The luxury car of a missing partner at Big Four accounting firm KPMG has been found, as his colleagues join the police search.

David Ibels, 43, went missing early on Saturday morning in the Mount Tamborine region, south of Brisbane.

A family friend last heard from him around 4:45 a.m., but hasn’t heard a word since.

Police sources said a black Porsche Cayenne station wagon in which Ibels was driving was found on Monday. However, the father of one child is still missing.

Mr Ibels normally lives with his wife and young daughter in New Farm, near Brisbane’s CBD.

He has been a valued, high-level employee at KPMG’s Brisbane office for twelve years.

A KPMG spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia that some of its colleagues are taking part in the search.

“We are in close contact with his family and are providing support to his family during this difficult time of uncertainty,” they said.

‘Many of our people are participating in the police investigation.

“We are all hopeful that David will soon be found and safe, and we send our thoughts especially to his family.”

Over the past three years, Mr Ibels has been a key figure in the development of KPMG Australia’s $800 million Brisbane headquarters at Heritage Lanes in the city’s CBD.

Developed by real estate giant Mirvac, the building is powered by renewable electricity and has net zero carbon emissions.

Just a month ago, Mr. Ibels proudly posted about this achievement on LinkedIn.
