Commuter struck by Sydney train sparking major delays along airport line

A person has died after being hit by a train, leading to delays along one of Sydney’s busiest rail lines.

The person was fatally struck by the train at Minto Station, in Sydney’s south-west, at around 9.29am on Monday morning.

The train passed through T8 Airport and the South Line, causing major delays in both directions.

Buses have now replaced trains between Ingleburn and Macarthur stations.

“Please allow extra travel time and message us if you need assistance traveling,” Sydney Trains wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

More to come.
