Hollywood’s most unlikely besties: From Hugh Jackman’s bond with Larry David to Russell Crowe’s friendship with RZA and Meghan Markle’s sisterhood with Serena Williams

Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars have developed close friendships in the most unusual ways.

Australian actor Hugh Jackman has an unlikely best friend in Seinfeld creator Larry David.

In 2016, the pair were seen enjoying a Jets football match together in New York, with Hugh, 55, also sharing a photo of the duo at the sporting event.

“Larry David, you make me cry,” Hugh captioned the photo, which showed the actor and writer, 76, embracing as they watched the game.

Australian star Russell Crowe, 59, has also been close to American rapper RZA, 54, for almost two decades.

The pair became friends after filming American Gangster together in 2007 and the rapper also starred in his Stan film Poker Face.

Earlier this year, Russell and his girlfriend Britney Theriot were spotted in Sydney with RZA.

Meanwhile, rapper 50 Cent, 48, and actress Bette Midler, 77, have developed a very close friendship.

Their bond began with Bette’s work on the New York Restoration Project, renovating abandoned parks.

The rapper collaborated with her in 2008 and launched The Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson Community Garden.

According to The listBette previously said of 50 Cent: ‘He’s such a doll… I love him. He is beautiful.’

Justin Bieber first reached out to David Hasselhoff on Twitter in 2013 before their “bromance” was born.

In 2014, the duo teamed up to work on Justin’s music video with Cody Simpson.

“We had a lot of fun, and he’s a cool guy,” David told People at the time.

Kris Jenner recently opened up about her “really good friendship” with actress Jennifer Lawrence.

‘She is beautiful. She is such a good friend and I am so proud of her,” Kris, 67, said American magazine in 2022.

‘I’m real. She’s like one of my children. I’m so blessed to have her in my life, and she’s so happy (right now).”

On her 30th birthday in 2020, Kris jokingly posted that Jennifer was her “favorite daughter.”

Meghan Markle and Serena Williams first met at the Super Bowl in 2010 before becoming close friends.

After Meghan’s impressive interview with Oprah Winfrey, Serena called her friend “truly noble.”

It is also rumored that Serena hosted Meghan’s baby shower with Amal Clooney in New York in 2019.

Elton John and Eminem met during rehearsals for their 2001 Grammy performance and have since built a strong friendship.

‘We have become friends (since meeting). We’ve been great friends ever since. He’s a great guy,” Elton John revealed on The Graham Norton Show.

The rapper previously said he didn’t even know Elton John was gay when they met.

‘Of course I’ve heard of Elton John. I didn’t know he was gay. I knew nothing about his personal life. I didn’t really care,” he told MTV News in 2004.

“But because he was gay and had my back, I think it was a statement in itself that he understood where I was coming from.”

Lea Michele and Kate Hudson developed a friendship after meeting on the set of Glee in 2012.

Their bond grew stronger when Kate supported Lea after the tragic death of her boyfriend Cory Monteith.

“I called her and said, ‘I don’t know where to go because my house is overcrowded,'” Lea told Elle magazine.

“She said, ‘Oh, you’re going to stay at my house.’ I’ll never really be able to thank her for what she did for me.’

Adam Sandler and Timothee Chalamet became friends after starring opposite each other in Men, Women and Children in 2014.
