Lupita Nyong’o stuns in plunging white gown for FIRST RED CARPET since Selema Masekela split… as she thanks fans for their ‘kindness’ following her ‘heartbreak news’

Lupita Nyong’o made her first red carpet appearance since announcing her split from boyfriend Selema Masekela.

The Oscar winner, 40, was a vision in white at the GO Campaign’s 17th annual GO Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday, just a few days after she was photographed cozying up to Joshua Jackson at a concert.

The actress dared to impress in a plunging white dress and stole the spotlight with her effortless beauty and style.

She paired the sophisticated look with a headpiece made from white seashells and posed next to her glamorous mother, Dorothy Nyong’o, who dazzled in gold couture.

The red carpet outing comes just hours after she expressed her gratitude to her fans after receiving an outpouring of love from them following the news of her breakup.

She took to her Instagram Stories on Saturday to share a heartfelt message thanking those who wished her well following the split announcement.

“Thank you for all the kindness I have received by sharing my love news,” the Star Wars alum began.

‘The encouraging words mean more to me than I expected. They are a balm.”

“And it feels comforting to have a little corner online for the broken-hearted.”

Lupita went on to say that many fans had shared “resources” such as poems, songs and quotes to help her heal, and she reposted a few examples of that.

In a separate Instagram post on Thursday, the 12 Years A Slave star wrote about the breakup and revealed she was in a “season of heartbreak” due to “cheating” by an unnamed lover.

While she didn’t specify what “cheating” was, she left the suggestion open as she revealed her split from her boyfriend of one year to her 10.8 million followers.

She wrote: “There are much more important things going on in the world right now, and my thoughts are with those who are suffering deeply.

‘At this time it is necessary for me to share a personal truth and publicly distance myself from someone I can no longer trust…

“I am in a season of heartbreak over a love that is suddenly and devastatingly extinguished by deceit.

“I’m tempted to run into the shadows and hide, only to return to the light when I regain enough strength to say, ‘Whatever, my life is better this way.’

“But I am reminded that the extent of the pain I feel is equal to the extent of my capacity for love. And so I choose to face the pain, cultivate the courage to see my life exactly as it is, and trust that this too shall pass.

“The promise, they say, is that a tender heart produces fearlessness. I hope it’s true…

Lupita was in a relationship with the TV presenter and sports commentator, 52, since 2022. He is also the co-founder of the surfwear company Mami Wata.

In April 2022, Lupita joined her current boyfriend at the launch of his company in Venice, California.

Lupita’s breakup announcement came just hours after she was spotted looking cozy with Joshua at a Janelle Monae concert.

In exclusive photos, Dawson’s Creek star Joshua, 45, who shares daughter Juno Rose Diana, three, with estranged wife Jodie Turner-Smith, 37, was seen looking close to Lupita at the Janelle Monae performance in LA on Wednesday.

Joshua and Lupita looked into each other’s eyes and shared a joke as they listened to the star’s The Age of Pleasure show in Inglewood from their seats.

Turner-Smith, who Joshua married in 2019, filed for divorce on Oct. 2, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Turner-Smith’s divorce filing came as a shock to fans as the couple seemed to have an unbreakable bond throughout their four years of marriage.

The couple started dating in 2018 – two years after Jackson split from Diane Kruger – and they married in August 2019.

Jackson and Turner-Smith welcomed Juno, their only child, in April 2020.

Famed divorce attorney Laura Wasser is representing Smith in the divorce, with the actress seeking joint custody of their daughter.
