Britney Spears says she felt ‘exploited in front of the world’ after THAT Diane Sawyer interview in 2003 in which singer wept after journalist harshly quizzed her on Justin Timberlake split

Britney Spears has revealed she felt ‘used’ after her tearful interview with Diane Sawyer in 2003 in her explosive new memoir, The Woman Inside Me.

In the interview, Sawyer quizzed Spears, then 21, about her recent breakup with Justin Timberlake amid rumors that she cheated on him.

Sawyer asked Spears: “He went on TV and basically said you broke his heart, you did something that caused him so much pain. What have you done?’

Britney replied: “We’re both really young. It was kind of waiting to happen. I will always love him.

“Everybody has their side of their story and to make them feel a certain way, make them feel, you know… I’m not saying he’s wrong and I’m not saying he’s right.”

According to The New York TimesBritney said she felt compelled by her father and management to do the interview, which she called a ‘breaking point’ for her.

In her memoirs, she wrote: “I felt like I was being used, put in front of the whole world.”

Timberlake didn’t shy away from talking about their interview. In one example, he was asked: ‘I have to ask, have you fucked Britney Spears?’

He smiled, sighed, and then said, ‘Oh man, OK, I did it.’

In an interview with The Telegraph in 2002, he also said: “The break-up was absolutely heartbreaking for me.

“I can’t just have meaningless relationships with women.” I need to find Miss Right to have a relationship. There must be a big moment when she comes.’

This comes after Spears confirmed in her memoir that she cheated on Timberlake by kissing choreographer Wade Robson – before coming clean to her lover and the pair ‘moving past it’.

Spears’ book will also detail the years of custody Spears lived under her father, who was managed by Jamie Spears from 2008 to 2021.

The book summary reads: “A brave and stunningly moving story of freedom, glory, motherhood, survival, faith and hope.”

Spears announced she was writing a book in February 2022 in an Instagram post.

‘Well, I’m currently writing a book and since it’s actually healing and therapeutic… it’s also hard to bring up past events in my life… I’ve never been able to express openly!!!’ She said.

Artist Tokic addressed fans about the status of the upcoming book, as well as the delays, via social media last May.

I almost feel like my life in business has always been that girl at school who got bullied and laughed at!!!’ She said. ‘But in my case there is no superior person to correct it!!!’

She continued: ‘I think some people want to hear my story… either through a book or what have you??? I had to stop a couple of times!!! Maybe it will take me a year, maybe even longer… to share my story !!!’

Spears has tapped Academy Award-nominated actress Michelle Williams to voice the audiobook for her upcoming memoir, titled.

The Baby One More Time hitmaker recorded a small portion of the book and avoided narrating the chapters dealing with her family because the content was “too painful to recount,” TMZ recently reported.

In a statement released Friday, the artist said, “This book is a labor of love and all the emotions that come with it.”

Spears continued, “Reliving it all was exciting, heartbreaking and emotional, to say the least. For these reasons, I will only be reading a small portion of my audiobook.’

The star said at the time: “I’m so grateful to the amazing Michelle Williams for reading the rest,” and the Fabelmans actress, 43, also told the outlet in support of the singer: “I stand with Britney.”

The insiders also explained that the star chose not to narrate the chapters dealing with her family “because she found them too painful to retell in her own words.”

Originally – published by Galleri Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster – it aimed to get blonde actress Reese Witherspoon to participate in the audio recording of the book. However, she was not ‘available’ to take the job.
