Shocking footage has emerged of Australia Post workers throwing parcels into a delivery van, sparking outrage among customers.

The trio were filmed at a Sydney distribution center and reportedly laughed as they took turns tossing parcels into the back of the van.

Two other colleagues can be seen watching.

The footage shows a worker armed with a package walking towards the van before pacing and holding his hand before finally throwing it into the vehicle.

“The way Aus Post handles people’s parcels… just throwing them around like no one cares***… look,” said the man who shared the footage.

‘What a joke.’

Australia Post customers expressed their outrage at the images as the busy Christmas period approaches.

‘I think it’s terrible because we buy and protect our presents with so much love, and then someone just throws them away’, Sylvia Gill told 7News.

Australia Post apologized and promised to investigate the incident.

“The vast majority of our network takes pride in their work for all Australians, and it is disappointing to see that this is not the case here,” the report said.

“These actions are not in line with the service standards we expect from our people.

“Australia Post regularly reminds team members of the correct handling procedures.”

The latest controversy comes after a report from Compare the Market found that 46 percent of online shoppers experienced delivery issues for internet purchases.

A quarter of respondents said the delivery was late, while another 14 percent said the delivery did not arrive at all.

Chris Ford from Compare the Market said a common misconception about home contents insurance is that it can ensure products are not damaged during delivery.

Mr. Ford claims that it actually only protects packages after they have already arrived at their destination.

During Christmas 2022, Australia Post delivered 52 million parcels in December and managing director Gary Starr said it is preparing for another busy season.

With national demand for postal deliveries rising again, Australia Post has advised customers to have their parcels posted by Monday, December 13, so they can be delivered on Christmas Day.
