Man, 30, charged with murder after body is found covered in stab wounds in a car next to Umina Beach
A man has been charged with murder after a man’s body was found covered in stab wounds in a car in the car park of a local NSW surf club.
Police were called to the Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving Club near Umina Beach on the NSW Central Coast about 3.15am on Monday where they found the body of the 40-year-old man.
On Wednesday, Brisbane Water Police District detectives charged the 30-year-old man, a Umina Beach resident, with one count of murder.
He has been refused bail and will appear at Gosford Local Court on Thursday.

The 30-year-old man was arrested at around 7.30am on Monday and taken to hospital, where he underwent surgery for a hand injury.
Brisbane Water Police District crime manager Detective Inspector Paul Laksa said initial investigations showed the man was known to the dead man.
While Detective Laksa could not confirm whether it was a “random attack,” he told reporters that the close-knit beach community should not worry about their well-being.
