Leigh-Anne Pinnock reveals she began freezing her eggs aged 28 after worrying doctor’s appointment as she stars in striking shoot: ‘It totally freaked me out’

Leigh-Anne Pinnock revealed she started freezing her eggs after making a worrying discovery about her fertility at a doctor’s appointment.

In a candid new interview, the 32-year-old singer, who welcomed twins in 2021 with husband Andre Gray, also 32, opened up about how her life plan changed when she was told she had a low egg count.

Starring in a striking cover shoot for Glamor Woman of the YearLeigh-Anne has reflected on why she decided to become a mother sooner than she first thought.

The Little Mix singer said that while Andre wanted to start a family, she was enjoying her career with the band.

She said: “We were at the height of my career and everyone knew I wanted children, but I remember thinking to myself, ‘I can’t have children now.’

Leigh-Anne went to the doctor’s clinic to have her fertility checked and was surprised by the results.

“They told me I had a low egg count, which totally freaked me out,” she said. “So I started the egg freezing process, just to be safe.”

The singer said she found the process tiring and decided she wanted to try to start a family straight away, so she stopped freezing her eggs.

Leigh-Anne became pregnant with twins.

Now, two years into motherhood, she said it is “exhausting” while rewarding.

The singer has yet to reveal the name or gender of her twins with fans and explained the reason behind her decision to keep them off Instagram.

“I want to protect them at all costs, when they are old enough, if they want to be in the public eye, that will be their choice.”

For the photo shoot, Leigh-Anne, who won the musician award at Tuesday night’s ceremony, was every inch the fashion chameleon.

The singer showed off her incredible figure in a red bodycon dress by Queen Lee and teamed it with Versace shoes and Helena Thulin earrings.

In other photos, Leigh-Anne wore a skin-tight brown leather look, a vibrant pink dress and a purple ruffled number.

Elsewhere in the interview, Leigh-Anne spoke about her stunning wedding in Jamaica.

The singer wore three wedding dresses on her big day, and Little Mick bandmate Jade Thirlwall flew in to be part of the celebrations.

When asked by fans if Perrie Edwards was invited, Leigh-Anne replied: ‘of course!’ but that the singer did not succeed.

Leigh-Anne said her bond with Andrea is stronger than ever as a family unit, but admitted in the early days they were tested.

She said: “I think a lot of it was his environment and the stereotype that comes with it, in my case, I found that to be quite true.

“But I’ve watched him grow up, and we’ve come so far.” I think people often think that if something bad happens in a relationship – if you get cheated on or whatever – that’s automatically done, it’s over, and that’s fair enough. But in my case, I chose to work on it, and I’m so glad I did.

“When you know you have something special, you want to fight for it.” If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. But if it is, my God, I feel great.’
