World boxing champion Ebanie Bridges has confirmed she will return to the ring to defend her title against compatriot Avril Mathie in a fight she is already calling ‘the sexiest fight ever’.

Bridges, 37, has recovered from a hand injury suffered during her mandatory defense of her IBF belt against Shannon O’Connell and is salivating at the prospect of a return to the ring against Mathie.

The all-Aussie showdown will take place on December 9 at the Chase Center in San Francisco as part of the Devin Haney-Regis Prograis undercard.

“I’m friends with Avril and I respect her immensely,” Bridges told Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday.

“She’s another girl who left Australia to pursue her dreams. She is very tough and has completely devoted herself to boxing.

“I’m excited about this fight because I know our styles will fit well together. We both have a lot of followers too, so I call this the ‘Battle of the Babes’.

“It’s going to be the sexiest fight ever.”

The ‘Blonde Bomber’ has become known for her sassy weighing outfits, while Mathie usually steps on the scale in a small bikini.

And Bridges believes when the pair step on the scales before their title fight, the internet will collapse.

“The weigh-in will break the internet,” Bridges said.

“It will also attract a lot of viewers outside of boxing as people will be interested to see if these two ‘OnlyFans models’ can box.”

The pair were scheduled to fight this year, but Bridges broke her hand in her world title fight against O’Connell.

Mathie, who won the Miss Swimsuit USA International beauty crown in 2014, has eight wins, one draw and one loss in her professional boxing career.

Bridges, who has a professional record of 9-1 with four knockout victories, expects a tough fight against Mathie.

“I know she’s going to put up a big fight,” Bridges said.

“She’s super tough, just like all of us Aussies, but I don’t think she has the power or strength to keep me off her for very long.

“She is technically good and has a big advantage with her height – and she also has a great joke – but I believe I can take away her reach with my style and strength.”

Bridges, who is known for her knockout power, is predicting a victory when the two meet in December.

“I would say a mid-round KO is very likely, but I’m training for the whole ten rounds and preparing for the best Avril,” she said.
