Britney Spears reveals why she shaved her head during infamous 2007 meltdown which led to 13-year-long conservatorship: ‘I was acting out’
Britney Spears has finally revealed why she shaved her head during her infamous downward spiral in 2007 that eventually led to her infamous conservatism.
The 41-year-old pop megastar opened up about the incident and the reasons behind it in an excerpt from her long-awaited memoir The Woman in Me, which she received from People magazine On Tuesday.
As she was in the midst of a painful divorce from Kevin Federline and constantly in the public eye, the mother of two revealed what led her to that moment.
She wrote: “I was stared at so much growing up. I’ve been looked down on, people have told me what they think of my body, ever since I was a teenager.

In 2007, Britney infamously shaved her head at a hair salon in Tarzana, a suburb of Los Angeles, a day after leaving a rehab facility in Antigua. Britney later re-entered treatment.
As a result, a year later Britney was placed under court supervision in 2008 which gave her father and lawyer complete control over her financial and personal affairs.
Britney also revealed that the conservatorship prevented her from keeping the look as she wrote: “Under the conservatorship I realized those days are over now.
“I had to grow my hair out and get back in shape.” I had to go to bed early and take the medicine I was told to take.’
