Inside the glamorous wedding of Reuben Cotter and Mackenzie Falco as footy star ties the knot  after he cancelled his own bucks party to play for Australia

Footy star Reuben Cotter officially tied the knot with long-term partner Mackenzie Falco at the glamorous Ville Resort and Casino in Townsville this weekend.

Cotter, 24, walked down the aisle just a day after playing for Australia in their Pacific Championship win over Samoa, with his teammates shielding him from crunching tackles to avoid ruining his wedding photos.

The North Queensland Cowboys star also canceled his Bucks party ahead of the big day as it clashed with the Kangaroos’ game.

The loved-up couple spent more than a year planning the wedding, but he didn’t expect Kangaroos boss Mal Meninga to call on the eve of his wedding vows.

After the match, the Australia captain said of Cotter: “I think he’s quite relieved that he got through it without any injuries or anything, or bruises on his face.”

Cotter canceled his own bucks party to play for Australia the night before the wedding

The couple was surrounded by friends, family and football stars, with Cotter’s Cowboys teammate Valentine Holmes in attendance, and Cotter was spotted dancing with friends and his new bride in a limousine as they celebrated the big occasion.

Cotter revealed before the big day that their daughter, Sunny, would walk down the aisle wearing their wedding rings.

After the match in Australia, Cotter was interviewed and indicated that he was willing to make up for his lost money by visiting the famous Mad Cow nightclub in Townsville.

“I missed mine (money party) because I was away at camp last weekend,” Cotter grinned.

“So maybe I should visit the Mad Cow tonight.”

Mal Meninga indicated that the team would help Cotter celebrate after the game.

“Congratulations to him, it’s a big day – you don’t get married very often,” he said

“We’re all behind him and we’ll no doubt have a few beers tonight.”

The Kangaroos’ next match is against New Zealand on October 28 in Melbourne and Cotter says he will maintain his fitness.

The Cowboys star was not beaten up during the match between Australia and Samoa

“I’m going away from the footy (this week),” he told NRL.com.

‘We’ve been planning the wedding for a little over a year. Nowadays we have to make reservations well in advance.

“I’ll do a little to keep it going, you don’t want to lose all the hard work you’ve done.”
