Megan Thee Stallion reveals she is currently WITHOUT a record label and is funding her own music career in candid video
Megan Thee Stallion revealed that she is currently working without the support of a record label during an Instagram Live on Thursday.
The 28-year-old rapper opened up about her experience as an independent artist and said that she is also looking forward to her future as a musician.
The Grammy winner, who recently shared a nude photo to promote her upcoming work, also revealed that she currently has to finance her future projects without outside support.
Megan, however, said she sees working without a label as a positive step for her career.
“I’m so excited to be doing something independently for the first time because it was just me and my mom.” I’m so excited because it’s just me going until we sign with a new record label,” she said.

The hitmaker, born Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, also noted, “Everything we do is funded directly out of Megan Thee Stallion’s pockets. So the budget comes from me.’
She added: ‘Fucking hot production girls. We’re in the pockets, hot, so let’s do our big one!’
Megan further stated that she is comfortable working as an independent artist for now.
The VAP rapper noted that she doesn’t want to “sign to a new label right now because I just want to do it on my own.”
The hitmaker also spoke about her past conflicts with her former label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, and accused the company of not supporting the release of her second record.
Megan recalled that 1501 Certified Entertainment executives ‘were like, “B****, Traumazine is going to hell.”
The Grammy Award-winning artist signed to her former label in 2018 and released her debut EP, Tina Snow, with the assistance of the company.
However, the artist’s relationship with the company quickly soured and she obtained a temporary restraining order against 1501 Certified Entertainment in 2020 after they began a dispute over her contract.
No worries: Megan, however, said she sees working without a label as a positive move for her career; she is seen in September
