A mother has gone viral after revealing her bizarre trick to prevent her children from using decorative towels in her bathroom.

Jessica has people asking if she’s cool or cool after taking to TikTok last week to share one video of her nailing a black towel to a wall.

She expressed her frustration in the text on the screen, writing: “When your kids don’t know what a decorative towel is…”

The footage shows the mother using a hammer to nail the inside of an expertly folded towel to the wall, ensuring it cannot be removed from the shelf.

Jessica then drops the front of the towel and zooms in on the camera to reveal the final results.

The stack of three hanging towels looks perfectly normal – no one would know the bottom was nailed unless they tried to move it.

Funny Jessica set the video to Taylor Swift’s revenge hit ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ and added the hashtags #momhacks, #toweldesign and #toweldecoration to the caption.

The 11-second clip has been viewed 3.9 million times and received more than 1,400 comments, but not everyone was on board with the hack.

Many people pointed out that the towel still needs to be cleaned regularly and her children will likely continue to use it.

“I think I’ll probably let it COOL and turn green before I let my expensive K-Mart ‘decorative’ towel easily come off the wall,” Jessica replied.

Mom also added that she doesn’t care if the towels are expensive or not, it’s the principle of the matter.

“I don’t care what kind of towel, it looks nice… They can use the other towels on the other towel racks,” she insisted.

There were many commenters who admitted they had no idea people had ‘decorative towels’ and some even felt bad for her children because of her strict family.

“My parents were like that… I was glad I left, I grew up in a museum it was torture,” said one person.

However, there were viewers who could relate to her frustration and had similar struggles in their own homes.

‘Children? My in-laws don’t know what a decorative towel is!’ one user pointed out.

‘I did… but with pins… yip. It’s me. I’m the problem. It’s me,” someone else confessed.

“Man, I came here expecting most people to agree. Don’t they understand how much time we spend choosing the perfect color?!’ asked another.
