Jada Pinkett Smith calls Tupac her ‘soulmate’ despite 19-year marriage to Will Smith – but says they never hooked up due to lack of chemistry
Jada Pinkett Smith believes Tupac Shakur was her ‘soul mate’, but shared that they never got hitched due to a lack of chemistry.
The Matrix star, 52 – who recently revealed she had been secretly separated from husband Will Smith, 55, for seven years – spoke candidly about her relationship with the late rapper as she discussed her upcoming memoir in an interview with roll out.
Jada revealed that she and the Hit Em Up hitmaker, who died aged 25 in 1996, had ‘friendship’ and ‘love’ but no physical chemistry.
She also suggested that the couple had ‘travelled’ together in a previous life.
When asked if she regrets the decision not to take the friendship in a romantic direction, Jada replied: ‘It just wasn’t possible. There was no chemistry between us.’

Editor Christal Jordan asked Jada about Tupac calling her a ‘soulmate’ and whether she feels it’s possible to be that without a romantic connection.
‘Absolutely, we have soul mates, our children can be our soul mates. I think this kind of romanticized idea of like a soul mate — there are all kinds of definitions of soul mates,’ Jada replies.
The Magic Mike star then speculated about traveling with Tuapc in past lives.
“If there’s such a thing as past lives, I definitely think me and Pac have traveled a few together, you know, in different forms,” she said.
When Jordan said that many fans have seen what they believe to be chemistry between the two in various past videos, Jada revealed that it is “friendship chemistry, love chemistry,” but not romantic chemistry.

Tupac’s murder remained a cold case for more than a quarter of a century, until Las Vegas investigators announced the arrest of Duane ‘Keffe D’ Davis, 60.
“Duane Davis was the ringleader for this group of individuals who committed this crime,” according to Las Vegas Police Homicide Lt. Jason Johansson.
“He orchestrated the plan that was carried out.”
Davis has admitted in interviews and in his 2019 memoir, Compton Street Legend, that he provided the gun used in the drive-by shooting and that he was one of three “living eyewitnesses” to the murder.
Davis’ court case is scheduled for Oct. 19, and he has not yet entered a plea, according to court records.
