Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper appeared to stare at Braves shortstop Orlando Arcia after smashing a three-run homer in the second level at Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday night.
Harper hit the long ball in the third inning of the Phillies’ 10-2 victory in Game 3 of the National League Division Series, when the seemingly downcast occurred as he ran around second aim.
The look Harper seemed to give Arcia was likely a response to the shot Arcia threw at him after the second game of the series.
A baserunning error by Harper led to him being thrown out into a double play that ended the game and allowed Atlanta to even the series with a 5–4 victory.
While celebrating the victory in the Atlanta locker room, Arcia was heard yelling “ha-ha, atta-boy, Harper!” several times while journalists stood nearby.

The Phillies would win Game 3 of the NLDS 10-2 and are one win away from advancing
“If that adds to his motivation,” Phillies manager Rob Thomson said before Game 3, “then thank you.”
Harper finished the game with two home runs and four RBIs after also hitting a solo home run to center field in the fifth inning.
The first of Harper’s home runs came from Braves starting pitcher Brade Elder, while the second came from relief pitcher Brad Hand.
Nick Castellanos hit two home runs as Philadelphia bounced back from its disappointing loss at Atlanta on Monday night. Trea Turner and Brandon Marsh also went deep.
Aaron Nola (2-0) and four relievers combined to push the 104-win Braves to the brink of elimination. The Phillies can advance to the National League Championship Series for the second straight season with a home win on Thursday.
