Self-proclaimed ‘energy healer’ Charlie Goldsmith has been accused of assaulting a boy.

Goldsmith, the younger brother of actor and singer Tottie Goldsmith and nephew of late Grease superstar Olivia Newton-John, will face court later this month.

The 43-year-old is accused of attacking one of four boys who were playing golf clubs near his home in Byron Shire, New South Wales on August 2.

Goldsmith allegedly confronted the youths after one of them kicked a rock which hit the lid of his scrubber as she walked down The Strand in New Brighton, 20km up the coast from Byron Bay.

Police will allege that when Goldsmith learned the cleaner’s car had been damaged, he drove to the scene in his Land Rover Defender to find out what happened.

Police will further allege that Goldsmith grabbed one of the boys and demanded they all sit down while he berated them. Goldsmith was subsequently charged with one count of common assault.

Goldsmith told Daily Mail Australia he would ‘vehemently deny’ allegations he assaulted the boy.

“I was informed of a group of local youths using golf clubs to hit rocks, resulting in damage to a passing car,” Goldsmith said. “I helped the individual whose car was damaged.

“I am deeply disappointed that I have been charged with a charge of common assault. I deny any violent behavior or physical contact with teenagers.

“I vehemently deny the allegations and have instructed lawyers to defend the charge.”

New Brighton is a beachside community of less than 400 residents, and the incident has been widely discussed in town.

Goldsmith’s $3 million North Road home is currently listed for sale, while his ex-partner, health and fitness influencer Ellie Lemons, also lives in New Brighton.

Lemons, who remains close to Goldsmith, was present for part of the alleged confrontation with the boys. She and Goldsmith both regularly take to social media to describe how they happily co-parent their young daughter.

Goldsmith runs communications agency Cassette which has clients including Victoria Police, cosmetics company L’Oréal, paint manufacturer Dulux, property giant Mirvac and fashion house Hugo Boss.

But the blonde entrepreneur, who was a Cleo Bachelor of the Year finalist in 2008, is best known for claiming he was able to treat illness and injury with a special gift he discovered as an 18-year-old.

Charlton Brian Goldsmith is the son of Melbourne nightclub owner Brian Goldsmith and his third wife Mara O’Brien. His father was previously married to Rona, Olivia Newton-John’s late sister.

After discovering his ‘gift’, Goldsmith has treated hundreds of patients, including his famous aunt, who was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992 and died aged 73 in August last year. after the third period with this disease.

Online testimonials claim that Goldsmith has successfully treated patients suffering from kidney stones, allergies, urinary tract infections, ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome and cold sores.

Goldsmith was the subject of the 2017 reality television series The Healer on the TLC cable network, which featured him allegedly reducing the suffering of patients using only his mind.

That program featured an appearance by Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey, who said Goldsmith had relieved her chronic neck pain.

“I’ve never experienced anything like what Charlie is able to do,” Gray said of the program.

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards also said Goldsmith had helped her with her fibromyalgia, a condition that causes pain throughout the body.

Another big fan is 11-time world champion Kelly Slater, who has said Goldsmith helped her relax during stressful times.

“He makes me stop thinking,” Slater once explained. “I’m a stubborn person… even by the time I get out, I’ve got it on the phone.”

Goldsmith has said he does not charge for his healing work, but his website offers the option of making one-time, quarterly or monthly donations of up to $1,000.

It also offers $150 six-month subscriptions to ‘power lessons’, with discounts for those customers who can’t afford it.

Asked how his ‘gift’ worked, Goldsmith once said: ‘I don’t have the ability to diagnose people. So I start by asking someone what’s wrong.’

“After that, I think specifically about this issue. When I work with someone, I try to shift my focus to that problem area. I don’t touch the person, but I will often place my hands over the problem area.

“I work very quickly – sometimes less than a minute. People describe the experience in different ways.

“They say they feel tingling, hot or cool. If you are in a lot of pain, you may feel the pain leave your body.

“In the early days, I actually felt the pain I was relieving in other people. Now it just bores me. It’s hard on the mind.’

Goldsmith’s practices have attracted skepticism and he engaged in a heated interview with Andrew Denton on the Seven Network in 2018.

“What you’re claiming to do is mysterious and unknown and almost impossible to measure,” Denton said at one point.

Seven then aired a Sunday night episode on Goldsmith, which explored his struggle to have his healing ability scientifically recognized as legitimate.

Goldsmith will appear in Byron Bay Local Court on October 23.
