NYU Law School Bar Association votes to REMOVE non-binary president who claimed Hamas’ slaughter in Israel was ‘NECESSARY’ – as students get death threats after sick statement

The NYU Law School Bar Association is voting on whether to oust its president after he sparked outrage by claiming Hamas atrocities against Israel were ‘necessary’.

Ryna Workman (24) confused the internationally recognized terrorist group’s attacks with ‘Palestinian resistance’ and claimed that Israel ‘bears full responsibility’.

The non-binary student now faces being removed from her post as the SBA as the group revealed that ‘multiple students’ had received ‘death threats’ because of her article.

Hamas, which controls the Palestinian enclave of Gaza, attacked Israel Saturday in the worst breach of the country’s defenses since Arab armies went to war in 1973. Israel responded with air strikes on Gaza.

Distancing themselves from Workman’s Monday article – headlined ‘Message from the President’ – the student group said Tuesday they did not “write, approve or see” it.

“The ‘Message from the President’ reflects their personal views and does not represent the views of SBA as an organization or any of its officers,” the group said in a statement.

They added that councilors had voted to “begin the removal” of Workman and that they would hold hearings as part of the process beginning Oct. 17.

“Several students have received significant targeted harassment and death threats,” they said.

‘We are appalled by these vile personal attacks and threats to student safety. The doxxing of any NYU law student is unacceptable and disturbing.’

The group issued a second statement on Wednesday to clarify that it condemned Hamas violence.

“As the violence in Israel continues, and we continue to grapple with feelings of anger and grief over the tragic loss of innocent life, we must do several things on behalf of the NYU Law Board of Trustees and our Law School as a whole,” they said.

‘NYU Law unequivocally condemns the recent acts of terrorism and the atrocities committed by Hamas in Israel.

‘The killing and kidnapping of civilians, and the use of sexual violence and the separation and torture of children, are all abhorrent and horrific.

“We want to say loud and clear to our community: Any statement that does not acknowledge this brutality does not reflect the values ​​of NYU Law.”

Before joining NYU, they graduated from the University of South Carolina with degrees in history and global studies

As well as studying at NYU, Workman completed their undergraduate degree at the University of South Carolina and also studied at the University of Warwick in the UK on an exchange program – where they took classes in international law.

The student, from Simpsonville, South Carolina, who follows the pronouns they/them, wrote in her weekly newsletter to fellow students of the Student Ball Association: ‘Hello everyone.

“This week, I want to first of all express my unwavering and absolute solidarity with Palestinians in their resistance to oppression against liberation and self-determination.

“Israel bears full responsibility for this tremendous loss of life.

‘This regime of state-sanctioned violence created the conditions that made resistance necessary.’

Referring to Hamas, Workman said: ‘I will not condemn Palestinian resistance.’
