Viewers slam Channel Seven’s ‘poor timing’ as SAS Australia airs horrifying depictions of terrorism following Hamas attack in Israel that killed 700 soldiers and civilians: ‘Too soon!’
SAS Australia shocked viewers on Wednesday night when recruits were put through alarming terror simulations in the Middle East.
During the scathing episode of the Channel Seven show, the 10 remaining recruits were forced to endure alarming challenges that many at home found beyond the pale.
An “accuracy test” saw the recruits perform a dangerous 50-metre backflip from the top of a building before engaging the Arabic-speaking “terrorists”.
The enemies are described as Middle Eastern radicals wearing dark, heavy clothes with black turbans around their heads.
The recruits were then expected to enter a room where the hostages were being held and “rescue” them by quickly identifying and “killing” the terrorists.

During the scathing episode of the Channel Seven show, the 10 remaining recruits were forced to endure alarming challenges that many at home found beyond the pale.
Shocked viewers quickly took to social media to criticize the show for airing the disturbing footage just days after the Hamas attack in Israel.
“Bad time to air this episode of SAS Australia,” complained one viewer of the disturbing scenes.
“A little harder to get into tonight’s episode,” a second person began.
“A little too close to what’s happening in the Middle East right now. I know it’s just a TV show, but tonight’s content recalls the destruction overseas. Hoping for peace for all”, they continued.
“The awkward silence of the hashtag #sasaustralia is a vibe,” added another.
“This prime time show showing mock terrorists with machine guns… too soon,” wrote another.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Channel Seven for comment.

Many viewers questioned the timing of the episode
Another task later in the episode had the recruits go through live grenade drills and, under heavy fire, infiltrate a building to eliminate enemies.
The horror show began with recruits being asked to allegedly throw live grenades onto a roof, which exploded on impact.
A ‘terrorist’ stood on top of the building where the bombs were being dropped and the recruits were expected to target them with explosive weapons.
In a terrifying moment, several recruits failed to do so and were left to dive for cover as an explosion went off near them.
SAS Australia’s confrontational episode comes in the midst of the horrific terrorist attack that took place at the Universo Paralello psy-trance festival on Saturday.
Victims of the horror unleashed by the Palestinian terror group Hamas have also included those from abroad who visited the festival, including British citizens.
More than 700 Israeli soldiers and civilians were shot dead or blown up in rocket attacks fired by Palestinian gunmen in the desert outside Kibbutz Re’im.
They killed around 260 innocent people at the music festival in a brutal and sudden offensive that drew comparisons to the 9/11 and Pearl Harbor attacks.
