The Block fans divided over Steph and Gian’s perfect score for their winning kids’ bedroom as critics slam its ‘dark’ and ‘bland’ colour scheme

Steph and Gian scored an emotional victory this week when they won Children’s Bedroom Week with a perfect score – but not all fans think it was deserved.

The childhood sweethearts, both 27, delivered breathtaking double bedroom sets in Steph’s iconic Japandi style, earning 10s from the Block judges.

But fans of the Channel Nine makeover show were left divided on Monday night due to the flawless rating given by Darren Palmer, Shayna Blaze and Marty Fox.

“I don’t like it for a child’s room.” It’s too dark and didn’t look so cozy and warm,” wrote one person on social media.

Another echoed their sentiment, writing: “I’ve babysat a lot of kids. No one ever asked for a brown bedroom.’

“There’s something wrong with the color scheme in the rooms. However, saying that, the congratulations in the room win,’ added a third.

Someone else commented: ‘It doesn’t appeal to me because it takes me back to the 60s, it looks very bland.’

Despite some coming out of the woodwork to condemn Steph’s ‘beige’ and ‘bland’ style, others are singing the praises of her eye for design.

One person said: ‘Best hands down!’ while another wrote: ‘Deserved. Both rooms are absolutely beautiful.’

‘Three tens. Well deserved! Incredibly. Perfection is everywhere. Put in a job and it’s delivered in spades,” someone else added.

A fourth commented: “I can sense big things coming for Steph and Gian. Loads of talent.’

It comes after The Block recently came under fire for claims of ‘bullying’, with a number of viewers voicing their concerns.

Woman’s Day claimed last Tuesday that some believed the show had “run its course” after it faced criticism from the ACMA.

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) was inundated with a total of 28 complaints in one week about the current Bloc season.

An ACMA spokesman said: ‘The majority of inquiries related to allegations of bullying, harassment and the promotion of anti-social behavior among competitors.’
