It’s been a busy week for David, who launched his four-part documentary series on Netflix this week after premiering in London on Tuesday.

Beckham’s tell-all documentary sees the pair give an intimate insight into their marriage and early romance, their family life and David’s football career.

In the series, David revealed he was forced to end his honeymoon with wife Victoria after Sir Alex Ferguson brought him back into training.

The footballer married Victoria (49) on July 4, 1999 in Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland, and the couple then flew to the south of France.

Speaking about the journey on his documentary series BECKHAM, David explained: “We had a short honeymoon. We ended up at Andrew Lloyd Webber’s house in the south of France – I have no idea how we ended up there!’

The pair looked more loved up than ever in never-before-seen snaps from the trip, as the pair kissed in the ocean and cuddled up together in their swimwear.

They came back to reality with a bang though, with David explaining: “We were supposed to be there for ten days, but the manager called me about five days in and said, ‘I need you back for training.’

David and Sir Alex had a famously tumultuous relationship, with Gary Neville confirming: “Inviting David five days after his wedding is classic Sir Alex Ferguson. “Get back here you b*****d.”

“Sir Alex Ferguson had a strange habit of bringing you back down to earth.”

Speaking in the documentary, the Manchester United legends revealed that David and Victoria Beckham’s relationship once ‘f***ed’ Sir Alex.

As they were both high-profile celebrities before dating, Posh and Becks attracted an extreme level of publicity and media attention, which is said to have angered Ferguson in the early stages of their relationship.

The manager believed that David’s relationship with Victoria had ‘changed’ him as a footballer as he was more focused on his celebrity status rather than his efforts on the pitch for Manchester United.

Former team-mate Paul Scholes said: “His relationship with Victoria threw the manager out. He thought it was affecting his football.’

Meanwhile, Red Devils icon Paul Ince has revealed that Sir Alex has been checking on his players’ love lives, wanting them to be in ‘stable’ relationships.

“Sir Alex liked you to be stable. He looked at your background. I didn’t want you partying every night,” he said.

When asked about their relationship, Sir Alex admitted: ‘He’s changed, there’s no doubt about that – and all the media and celebrity attention was different to what I wanted.’
