Mars brings down Nunez (0-0)
Great play from Nunez as he carries the ball deep into the Brighton half, first drifting past Baleba who seemed more concerned with the man than the ball, then being brought down in March. Silly mistake. Alexander-Arnold takes the free kick into the wall.
Liverpool defend nervously (0-0)
Brighton could have found themselves in front as they were presented with back-to-back chances from back-to-back corners.
March is denied a shot from Van Dijk for the first time before Dunk then puts him on a plate for someone to attack. Van Dijk must avert the danger.
Brighton’s free kick wins a corner (0-0)

De Zerbi explains team changes
The Brighton boss explained his team selection ahead of the match and says the busy schedule balancing league, cup and European football has been difficult for his side.
“I choose the moment and the match, but the schedule has been busy with league matches, Chelsea in the cup, two European matches and now Liverpool, it’s a big challenge,” De Zerbi told Sky Sports.
State of play of the Premier League
The top-level standings could end up looking a lot different by the end of the day and we’ll do our best to keep you up to date with the progress of the field goals.
Tottenham are currently surprise leaders in the Premier League but could find themselves third tonight depending on results.
Man City travel to the Emirates this afternoon with a win taking them back to the top, while three points for Arsenal would put them level on points with Spurs and possibly first place based on goal difference.
If Liverpool win today, they will momentarily move into second place ahead of the evening clash in London. Meanwhile, Brighton can move level with City on 18 points if they win.
Klopp insists there is ‘no time to lose’
The Liverpool boss told his team they need to bounce back from defeat to Tottenham today and praised De Zerbi for making so many changes to his starting team.
Speaking to Sky Sports pre-match, Klopp said: “Very important to bounce back, there is no time to lose. Tough opponent, lots of changes – he’s so brave it’s unbelievable.
“You look at the lineup, you don’t know exactly who will play and where. It’s a real quality of him and of Brighton. We are prepared as much as possible, well recovered and ready to go.
Which Brighton team will be there today?
Liverpool have beaten Newcastle, lost to Tottenham, drawn with Chelsea already this season, today they arrive at Brighton probably wondering which team they will face.
Six changes have been made by De Zerbi and that only adds to the mystery of what kind of Brighton outfit we’ll see today. Will it be the stars who beat Man United and Newcastle 3-1, or will there be another disappointing 6-1 defeat?
Brighton have the ability to stun top teams, but they have also shown that they are susceptible to heavy losses. That being said, it would be a huge surprise to see the Seagulls make two mistakes like this.
Jurgen Klopp insists he’s ‘completely done’ with VAR screamer
Jurgen Klopp has insisted he is “completely over” the terrible VAR error in his side’s 2-1 defeat to Tottenham.
Luis Diaz’s goal was wrongly disallowed on Saturday afternoon when referee Simon Hooper and the VAR room miscommunicated the result of an offside call.
Alexis Mac Allister celebrated her arrival
We said he would get a good reception and Alexis Mac Allister received exactly that as he entered the Amex to cheers from both sets of supporters.
The Argentine has a wry smile on his face as he acknowledges the love that still lingers at the club for him, but he will hope to dash the hosts’ hopes once we get going.
BRIGHTON TEAM NEWS

Fortune favors…guests
Liverpool head to Brighton after a strong start to the Premier League season and will be very confident, despite their controversial defeat to Spurs last time out.
Unfortunately for Reds supporters, Brighton have been one of their bogey teams of late, with Liverpool last beating their modern-day opponents in March last year when Luis Diaz and Mo Salah featured both on the scoresheet.
Since then, Liverpool have drawn and lost twice against Brighton, with Roberto de Zerbi’s side most recently winning 2-1 in an FA Cup tie in January.
Alexis Mac Allister prepares to return to her old stomping grounds
The Argentine was a star at Brighton and now returns to the coastal club for the first time since completing his £35million summer move to Liverpool.
He fits easily into Jurgen Klopp’s midfield and looks like a bargain as the Reds have overhauled their midfield with Dominik Szoboszlai finding form as Mac Allister’s midfield partner.
Expect Brighton fans to give their former player a warm welcome before kick-off.
