They were the stars of Foxtel’s explosive debut season of The Real Housewives of Sydney in 2017.

And now Chrissy Marsh and Nicole O’Neill are back with a new cast for a reboot of reality show Binge that takes viewers into the world of Sydney’s elite.

The couple, who are known for not holding back, revealed that the controversial first season led to tensions during the filming of the new series, which is due to finish on October 10.

Chrissy and Nicole, who found themselves at the center of the infamous antics that left viewers complaining that the first season of RHOS was “too nasty,” said they felt “tainted” by the original season.

“They didn’t want our advice,” Chrissy said of her colleagues in an interview with News.com.au on Saturday.

They said, “We don’t want to be like season one, we don’t want to have anything with the girls from season one, we don’t want it to be anything like that.”

“It was almost like, ‘You two are tainted, we don’t want to be like season one’ … so let’s see who makes it into season three,” she said, adding, “We’ll see!”

Elsewhere in the chat, Nicole said they were both ‘proud of their behaviour’ in the new season.

It comes after Chrissy admitted last week that she initially turned down Binge’s offer to reprise her role, but eventually changed her mind after a chat with Nicole.

‘Nicole called me at 6am and said: ‘You’re an idiot, you know how much fun we had. It was like I was in school for three months,” she told Sydney Confidential.

‘She turned on me, and by the time we finished the conversation I had signed the contract.’

The mother-of-two said her teenage children have already begged their mum not to make her trademark “sexy remarks” on camera.

“I’m like dear, that’s me.” I’m not going to change my personality,” she joked.

Chrissy and Nicole will be joined on RHOS this season by former Seven Seven presenter Sally Obermeder, sports brand entrepreneur Victoria Montano, NRL WAG Terry Biviano, Bondi Vet Hospital owner Dr Kate Adams and pal Caroline Gauthier.

The Real Housewives of Sydney was canceled in 2017 after just one season, with Foxtel bosses claiming US TV networks dropped the show because it was “too extreme”.

At the time, Foxtel’s head of television Brian Walsh blamed the housewives’ “ugly” attitudes for the franchise’s failure, telling The Daily Telegraph: “A lot of the women on this show were nasty for the sake of being nasty and have no redeeming qualities.”

Fans of the original season will remember the exciting moment when housemate Lisa Oldfield ‘sl*t shamed’ Chrissy on camera.

During the scandalous scene, Lisa accused Chrissy of being ‘a fucking disgrace, a s*t and a cu*re’, as the public looked on in horror.

After the shocking incident, Chrissy fled to China to avoid the episode being broadcast.
