Actor Martins Imhangbe, 32, plays the title role in the Trish Wadley Productions version of one of Shakespeare’s greatest tragedies, Othello, at Riverside Studios.
The play’s main antagonist, Iago, is played by three actors: Michael C. Fox, Orlando James, and Jeremy Neumark Jones.
Rose Riley plays Desdemona, Rachel-Leah Hosker plays Emilia/Roderigo and Ryan O’Doherty plays Cassio/Brabantio.
Othello tells the story of a man who falsely accuses his wife of infidelity and believes the lie so strongly that he eventually kills her.
This year the production runs from Saturday 7 to Sunday 29 October.
It comes after Joanne appeared to have found love again following her split from husband James Cannon when she was spotted holding hands with new man Mark earlier this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, Joanne recently took him to a party with her group of friends at Italian restaurant The Greyhound in Marylebone, central London.
She was spotted laughing at the friend’s birthday party last month, and a source close to her revealed: ‘Joanne is having a great time with Mark.’
It’s the first time she’s been publicly linked to a love interest since parting ways with IT consultant James in February 2020.
The star announced the couple had split just weeks before lockdown.
She said: ‘We’ve been separated for a while. I look to the future. I’m just going to embrace this year and see what happens.”
Ex: It comes after Joanne appears to have found love again with a man named Mark following her divorce from husband James Cannon (Joanne and James in 2018)
A year later, in 2021, Joanne admitted that her divorce from her long-term partner had put her life in a state of flux.
She said: ‘I didn’t think I would be divorced, I didn’t think we would experience a pandemic, I didn’t think my life would be in flux the way it was. But I’m okay with that.
‘I’m so grateful for my friends and family, for my health and for working so much this past year. You realize, when it comes down to it, how many positives you have in your life.”
Joanne, who was engaged to DJ Phil Vane at the age of 19, married Cannon in 2012 in a private church ceremony in Oxfordshire attended by her fellow Downton Abbey cast members.
