Jeremy Clarkson looks shattered as he touches down in Heathrow with Richard Hammond and James May after being ‘marooned’ in Botswana

Jeremy Clarkson returned to Britain after being stranded in Botswana after a serious flight delay.

The TV presenter, 63, landed at Heathrow alongside Richard Hammond and James May after a 16-hour long-haul flight.

Jeremy looked tired after the trip as the trio had to hire a bush plane to get them out of their luxury camp, which had 40 staff and a swimming pool.

When Richard and James landed in the early hours of Friday morning, they were greeted by friends and family.

The Grand Tour stars were on their way to film the following series, but were left stranded after BA canceled their flight.

Richard, 53, was greeted by his 22-year-old daughter Isabella, who looked happy to see her dad as the pair grinned from ear to ear.

James, 60, also appeared to be greeted by friends as he embraced a young woman in a hug.

Tired after the flight, Jeremy grabbed a coffee as he pushed his luggage through the arrivals hall.

Their return comes after Jeremy decided to document the trio’s ‘survival’ in Botswana.

The former Top Gear presenter regularly gave his followers updates via Instagram while making jokes about their chances of survival and boasted about living in luxury, while forty employees waited on them hand and foot.

He broke the news with a photo of Hammond and May staring at their phones next to the remains of their dinner and half-full wine glasses, writing: “BA ruined our flight home so we’re stranded here in a luxury camp in Botswana. With only 40 employees. It’s all about survival now.’

Jeremy then posted regular updates as he chronicled the trio’s stay at the remote camp with a beautiful swimming pool.

Sharing a video of the luxury camp where they are staying, he wrote: ‘Stranded update. We are working on it. But for how long?’

In his latest update, Jeremy posed with his friend Super, who came to save the team.

Smiling with his arm around his friend, he wrote: “Big thanks to my dear friend of 20 years, Super, who saved the day.”

Sharing photos from the luxury camp turned farmer, the presenter shared a serene photo of an outdoor pool and sarcastically wrote: ‘If BA postpones a flight by 12 hours, don’t they realize the hardship they are causing passengers? We’re fighting to stay alive here.’

He later posted an adorable photo of a meerkat on its hind legs as he watched the sunset over the sandy expanse.

He captioned the photo: ‘Thanks to BA’s incompetence I’m forced to endure my evening like this.’

He upped the drama on Wednesday when he shared a photo of a Kyote-like animal burrowing into its dead prey.

He broke the news with a joke in the caption: “James May didn’t make it I’m afraid,” before later informing fans that he had wrongly identified the dead prey and “It was basically Richard Hammond turned into food’.

He later shared a photo of himself and James with a gap between them where Richard, now ‘dead’, should have been sitting as he wrote: ‘Missing man formation’.
