A chilling video shows a gang of robbers stalking a disabled man through a Texas gas station before someone sneaks up and attacks him as he sits helpless in his wheelchair.
The elderly victim was shopping at a convenience store in Houston’s Settegast neighborhood when one of the gang members innocently walked by and saw him open his money bag at the cash register.
Houston police released security footage showing the suspect returning to the store’s parking lot moments later with two accomplices in tow, apparently scanning the station forecourt for their prey.
Then someone gets out and creeps through a line of cars before quietly creeping up behind the oblivious victim who has paused at a pump.
The cowardly attacker then leans over and snatches the bag before returning to his watching gang.

He is then seen with two accomplices scanning the station forecourt after apparently tipping them off about the vulnerable target leaving the store.

The attack happened on Thursday, August 31 around 4:00 PM, outside the Pit Stop Express on the 7600 block of North Wayside.
The images were released Thursday morning by police in Houston, where purse thefts increased by almost a fifth this time last year.
Mayor Sylvester Turner touted new data showing homicides fell Wednesday and crime overall fell by just over four percent.
“I am proud of the city I will pass on,” he said as he delivered his final State of the City address before retiring at the end of this year.
“I don’t feel like leaving, and if I could run again, I would.”
But shoplifting is up 14.4 percent, pickpocketing is up 28.2 percent and property theft is up a whopping 87.9 percent in the Democratic-led city.
Earlier this summer, police released security footage of a disabled woman being robbed in her wheelchair at a fast food chain after withdrawing money from an ATM on the other side of the city center in Tidwell.
Days before the attack in Settegast, a paralyzed man was shot after handing over his money to a robber in the Hyde Park neighborhood.

But another robber took aim at the wrong target when he tried to take a backpack from a man in a wheelchair outside a Midtown subway station.
“He fired several shots, striking the suspect,” Lt. JP Horelica told reporters.
“The suspect ran a few hundred yards, collapsed and was captured and treated by the Houston Fire Department.
Police said the 18-year-old would-be robber suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition, but was expected to survive.
