Chelsea Handler now says her masseuse threesome partner was NOT the real reason she split with Ted Harbert: ‘That didn’t happen’
Chelsea Handler made it clear why her four-year relationship with Ted Harbert really ended in 2010 – four months after she hinted that threesomes could have been the catalyst for the split.
The 48-year-old comedian lightheartedly mentioned the 68-year-old former CEO of Comcast Entertainment Group by name as she recalled how they had a ménage à trois with their female masseuse, whom she was “very turned on” in bed.
“I ended up hooking up with her several times without the guy I was dating. That’s when I knew it was time to break up with the guy,” Chelsea candidly admitted on Andy Cohen’s broadcast. SiriusXM performance on June 8.
“I don’t think I ever revealed that (to him). Hopefully he’s listening now. His name is Ted Harbert.’
Handler joked that she likes threesomes with a woman and a man instead of two men because “she can do all the things I’m too lazy to do.”

The Grammy Award nominee’s TMI comments managed to upset Harbert — who remains “a very dear friend of mine” — and he messaged her: “That wasn’t cool.” Please don’t do that again. Some things are better left private.’
“I want to make it clear that this is not the reason why our relationship ended,” Chelsea announced on Wednesday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
“We’ve had a lot of threesomes – and even if it’s private, it’s already there, so I’m going to emphasize that again – and just say we didn’t break up because I left him for the masseuse. That didn’t happen.’
Handler jokingly added, “I had so many people come up to me and say, ‘Wow, that gave Ted Harbert a lot of reputation. Who would have thought he had a threesome?’ So I just want to say he was!’
In 2012, the New Jersey-born blonde said she stopped dating the native New Yorker because the two couldn’t separate business from pleasure.
“I’d come home from work and Ted would say, ‘Do you want to watch your show?’ said Chelsea Marie Claire.
‘And I’d say, “No, I just got off my show. That’s the last thing I would want to do.” That was ultimately the reason it didn’t work. I think.’
The Dear Chelsea podcaster didn’t start dating Ted — who oversaw all programming on E! — until she was already hosting The Chelsea Handler Show for the cable network “contrary to popular belief.”
And while Harbert has been married to former HR director Lisa Medrano for the past 12 years, Handler has romanced comedian Jo Koy, chef Bobby Flay, hotelier André Balazs, rapper 50 Cent and comedian David Alan Grier.
