Former President Donald Trump has claimed that he will do “whatever it takes” to “help” the selection process for a new Speaker of the House of Representatives, as long as they have a “very experienced president, ME!” to help.
The real estate mogul turned reality TV star turned president posted on his social media platform Truth Social on Tuesday, just a day after former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was ousted from his position in a coup by hardline Republicans.
He claimed that his position as the current Republican front-runner for the 2024 presidential election gave him the authority to help define the important role of Congress itself.
He wrote: “I’m running for President, with a 62 point lead over Republicans and 4 to 11 points ahead of Crooked Joe Biden, despite the Democratic Party’s massive efforts on law, armaments and election interference , but that will be the case. do whatever is necessary to assist in the selection process of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, on short notice, until the final selection of a GRAND REPUBLICAN SPEAKER is made.
“A Speaker who will help a new but very experienced president, ME, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

There is currently a heated race among top Republicans over who will take the coveted position.
Jim Jordan, the U.S. representative for Ohio’s 4th congressional district, threw his hat in the ring, as did Republican party number two leader Steve Scalise, the current House majority leader who represents Louisiana’s 1st district. represents.
Trump himself appears to have signaled his intention to run for chairman of the House of Representatives, despite a Republican statute barring anyone who is indicted from serving in a major role.
He shared a photo of himself wearing a MAGA hat while holding a gavel, which the Speakers of the House use in their daily work in Congress.
Although there is no law of Congress requiring the Speaker of the House of Representatives to be an elected member, Republican statutes would prevent Trump from taking this position.
“A member of the Republican Leadership will step aside if charged with a crime punishable by a prison sentence of two or more years,” the Republican Conferences said.
McCarthy himself said he would not run for speaker again, telling reporters, “I fought for what I believe in.” I believe I can keep fighting, but maybe in a different way.”
McCarthy was voted out of his role on a 216-210 vote on Tuesday after fringe Republicans were forced to abandon his position in a historic vote.
The 58-year-old, who represents California’s 20th District, was accused of conspiring with Democrats over an 11th-hour bill that narrowly prevented the US government from being shut down.
Rep. Matt Gaetz, who led the charge against McCarthy, said, “Kevin McCarthy is a swamp animal. He came to power by collecting special interest money and redistributing that money in exchange for favors. We’re breaking the fever now.’
