I’m a budget-savvy bride – here’s how I saved THOUSANDS on my wedding flowers by getting them all at Trader Joe’s for just $200

A frugal bride has people swooning over her Pinterest-worthy wedding flowers, revealing they cost just $200 at Trader Joe’s.

Megan Tryon married her husband Kaelon in early September. The couple married in a small, intimate wedding with 30 guests in Ouray, Colorado, with Megan making it as personal as possible — right down to the flower arrangements on the table.

Posted in several videos TikTokthe newlywed explained that she didn’t want to spend ‘thousands’ on flowers for her big day, but instead opted for supermarket flowers.

‘I called in advance to order. “I actually order from three different Trader Joe’s because I was afraid they wouldn’t get enough colors that I wanted,” Megan explained in one of her videos.

She continued, “When you order flowers from Trader Joe’s, you can choose the type of flower, but not the color or quantity. You can ask them to put something aside.’

Megan, whose vision included many bright flowers placed in the center of the table in several vases, said she asked for dahlias, gerberas, butterfly ranunculus, field roses, spray roses and chrysanthemums.

She said she called Traders Joe’s a few weeks before her wedding, and the staff told her to call four days before the event and before noon because that’s when they placed their flower orders.

She admitted it was a little tricky because the store didn’t have a catalog of what flowers they had available or in season.

“So I wasn’t actually sure what they would have (which is kind of frustrating),” she said. “I don’t really live near Trader Joe’s, so I kind of guessed based on the flowers that are typically in the season.’

Since all of her own inspiration photos feature colorful flowers, Megan requested a bright color palette when she contacted the store – she asked for pink, white, yellow and orange shades.

“I really wanted lots of dahlias, lots of butterfly crowfoot, and then I added some other little mixed flowers,” she explained.

“When you place an order with Trader Joe’s, you can request specific colors and they can try to set aside those colors for you,” she continued, adding, “At least that’s how it was for me.”

However, when she arrived at Trader Joe’s to pick up the flowers, Megan said she actually preferred the flowers on display in the store to the ones reserved for her.

“I was there early in the morning, so I was able to sort through the flowers before they were mostly gone,” she said. ‘It was super easy and simple.”

Megan picked up her flowers Thursday morning, she kept them in the water until Saturday, when she was ready to use them, and asked her nearest and dearest to help with preparations for the morning of her big day.

“We had 30 people at our wedding and I think I spent about $200 on flowers,” she said. “Honestly, I probably could have spent about $150.”

“I think they turned out perfect,” she said. “They were super cute, really easy, and it was honestly a lot of fun putting them together the morning of.”

The bride added that she didn’t make her own bouquet and took it to the professionals because she didn’t want to “stress on getting it perfect” on her wedding day.

TikTok users loved her cost-effective method, with many in disbelief that it was possible to pre-order from Trader Joe’s.

‘This!!! I wish I went to a local store instead of ordering them online! So much cheaper and who doesn’t love flower arranging?!” one user commented.

“Love this one, simple but really adds atmosphere,” another agreed.

“Very elegant,” someone else declared.
