A divorce lawyer has revealed why you shouldn’t get married in your 20s – saying he was the perfect age to tie the knot.
Tyler Summers is a Boston-based divorce and prenuptial agreement attorney who regularly shares tips for people seeking a divorce from their spouse on his TikTok account.
Recently the lawyer took to the video sharing platform to talk about what age you should get married and why.
In a viral video, which has been viewed more than 3.5 million times to date, Tyler revealed that you shouldn’t tie the knot in your 20s because that period should be used to “find yourself.”

At the beginning of the clip, he said, “In your twenties you’re still finding yourself.”
He noted that during this period you had “no idea what you want in the long term.”
“The person you marry at 21 is a completely different person at 28,” he added.
And while the divorce attorney didn’t recommend tying the knot in your 20s, he did share the perfect age to get married.
Tyler revealed that you should try to tie the knot in your 30s.
“People who get married for the first time at 30 are further along in their careers, maybe they have some money,” he said.
‘They are more mature, they are ready for a long-term relationship.
