EXCLUSIVE: Britney Spears’ estranged dad Jamie is BACK living with his daughter Jamie Lynn after ANOTHER failed stint in rehab – and popstar is ‘furious’ at her sibling for taking their dad in despite ‘what he did to her’ during 13-year conservatorship
Britney Spears’ ailing father Jamie is back living with his youngest daughter Jamie Lynn in her newly built home in Louisiana after another failed stint in rehab for alcoholism, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.
Jamie – whose long battle with booze was first detailed by his ex-wife Lynne in her 2008 book Through the Storm – left rehab in July after completing a 30-day program, according to a Spears family insider , who claims the father-of-three has struggled to stay sober ever since.
Jamie, 71, has since been living in a guest house on Jamie Lynn’s estate in Hammond, Louisiana, with her husband Jamie Watson and their daughters Ivey, five, and Maddie, 15, the source shared – adding that his drinking has raised serious concerns led among his relatives.
“Jamie just got out of rehab but is already drinking again, which worries Lynne and Jamie Lynn,” they said.

However, Jamie Lynn’s concerns haven’t stopped her from getting her father involved with her children, with the insider adding that Jamie has been helping care for his granddaughter while the Zoey 102 actress has been traveling for Dancing With The Stars.
The girls visited their mother for the premiere last week, when Lynne flew them to LA, but they weren’t there to see Jamie Lynn crash out of the competition last night.
“Jamie babysat for Ivey while Jamie Lynn competed with Lynne on Dancing With The Stars,” they shared.
According to the source, Jamie Lynn’s decision to welcome her father into her home has done little to repair her already troubled relationship with her sister, who they say is ‘extremely bothered’ by the scheme.
“This clearly infuriates Britney for so many reasons,” they claimed. “She feels betrayed because her sister shelters her father and allows him to watch her children after what he did to her.
“She can’t believe Jamie is taking care of Jamie Lynn’s daughters when he was partly responsible for the feud between Britney and her two sons.”
The Toxic singer, who previously admitted she was ‘scared of her drunk dad’, has Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden, 17, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.
In April, Britney reunited with her mother Lynne – with whom she shares an incredibly complicated relationship – after years of estrangement. She currently lives in a $2 million mansion built by her famous daughter in 2001.
But the reconciliation was short-lived, with Britney once again cutting her out of her life after her estranged husband Sam Asghari filed for divorce.
In June, Britney rekindled her fractured relationship with sister Jamie Lynn, which has now broken up again due to Jamie Lynn’s decision to let her father live with her.
Representatives for Jamie, Jamie Lynn and Britney did not respond to repeated requests for comment.
Jamie’s struggle with alcoholism is no secret and has been publicly discussed by his ex-wife Lynne, who recently started working as a substitute teacher to help pay the bills, and their two daughters.
In Lynne’s 2008 memoir Through the Storm, she revealed that her ex-husband’s alcohol problems began in 1977.
“Jamie always enjoyed a beer here and there, but he didn’t start drinking heavily until after Bryan was born,” Lynne wrote, referring to her and Jamie’s eldest child, Brian Spears.
Britney, 41, has not spoken to her father Jamie since 2021, pictured together in 2016, with the insider adding that Jamie Lynn, who hosts Jamie, is making Britney ‘furious’

She described her ex-husband’s behavior this way: “Cruel words, hurled in the heat of the moment, fueled by the evil energy of alcohol.”
She said he was an “alcoholic” who was “barely present, supportive or loving” toward the end of their marriage. She filed for divorce in 1979 but decided to give him a second chance before they divorced in 2002.
She said she ultimately made the decision after “years and years of verbal abuse, abandonment (and) erratic behavior.”
In 2004, Jamie reportedly went to rehab after Britney urged him to seek help.
The Piece of Me singer said about her father’s drinking during a 2021 hearing for her conservatorship: ‘I’ve always been afraid of my father. I was afraid he would show up drunk.”
In 2008, Jamie took full control of Britney’s life when he became her conservator after a nervous breakdown at her home on Mulholland Drive in Beverly Hills, California.
In 2014, Britney told a judge presiding over her conservatorship that she suspected her father was drinking again. His lawyer denied this at the time.
Jamie Lynn was also hugely affected by her father’s drinking and claimed his alcoholism made her feel even more ‘neglected’ while living in the shadow of her megastar sister.
She wrote, “He spent most of my life in that cycle of depraved behavior. His drinking binges always caused me periods of torment and sadness.
‘It caused a lot of unrest. The hardest part was, ‘Can I trust you? Do you drink? Isn’t that right?’

Jamie, who looked weak in 2022, has suffered serious health complications in recent years, starting in 2018 when his colon ruptured
Britney, along with her father Jamie, told a judge presiding over her conservatorship in 2013 that she suspected he was drinking again in 2014, which his lawyer denied at the time.
Jamie suffered a serious health crisis in 2018 when his colon ruptured. The condition can be caused by years of alcohol consumption, the paper said World Journal of Emergency Surgery.
‘A few months ago my dad was hospitalized and almost died,” Britney tweeted at the time. “We are all so grateful he made it out alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him.”
The Toxic singer canceled her second Las Vegas residency, Domination, to care for her father.
Her first residency Piece Of Me in Sin City saw her perform almost every night for four years, from 2013 to 2017, and was one of the most lucrative residencies in Las Vegas history.
‘I dedicate my attention and energy to caring for my family. We have a very special relationship and I want to be with my family during this time, just as they have always been there for me,” she wrote at the time.
“It’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make.”
But in a 2021 court filing, Britney claimed Jamie forced her to say she was pulling the plug on Domination to care for him as she detailed the horrific abuse she endured during her 13-year conservatorship.
Britney told the court that her father had her committed to a mental health facility against her will as retaliation expressing opinions during dress rehearsals about canceling the residency.
Britney stated that she “never wanted to go there,” referring to the mental health facility where she underwent extreme treatment methods typically used on people with serious mental health issues.
‘I remember calling my father crying and saying, ‘You have to listen to the doctors. I can’t help you now,” she told the court.
The pop princess also claimed that her father told her that she would lose the battle if she ever questioned the treatment option he had chosen.
“Now you don’t have to go, but if you don’t go, we’re going to go to court and you’re going to lose,” Britney claimed her father told her at the time.
In court documents filed by Britney’s attorney Matthew Rosengart, who was instrumental in the star’s release from conservatorship, Jamie was called an “alcoholic and compulsive gambler.”
Britney hasn’t spoken to (or seen) her father since her conservatorship ended in November 2021.
Although recent reports suggested Britney wanted to make amends with her father, DailyMail.com was told this is 100 percent false.
