LinkedIn unveils a host of AI-powered products to help you find a new job
LinkedIn has announced a series of new AI-powered tools coming to users after drip-feeding a number of tools over the past year.
While the platform may not be as popular as Facebook, Instagram, and website), and most importantly, the support of Microsoft.
Microsoft has invested billions of dollars in OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, and is in the process of rolling it out AI tools throughout its ecosystem. Several Copilot-branded tools will become generally available in the coming weeks.
Recruiter 2024 is one such tool coming to LinkedIn. It uses generative AI to improve search strings in the hope that recruiters can find more suitable candidates. Employers can use natural language clues to indicate the type of candidate they are looking for.
Another part of the platform that is getting an AI injection is LinkedIn Learning. Users can interact with a chatbot in this section of the site to explore and develop new skills, asking questions such as “How can I delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively?” to get a helping hand in the workplace.
It’s unclear whether the assistant will pull information from courses already published on LinkedIn Learning or if this is something that could be explored for a future rollout.
Marketing and B2B sales are also set for an AI boost, with the updated tool able to pull data from the rest of LinkedIn to help companies reach the right audiences.
While many have expressed concerns about potential threats related to AI, it is clear that LinkedIn’s intention is to help users save time and work more efficiently.
