‘Missing’ NFL ex-player Sergio Brown parties topless in Tulum as police investigate the brutal murder of his mother Myrtle, 73, who was beaten to death and dumped in a creek two weeks ago

  • Brown has been missing since his mother Myrtle was found dead on September 16
  • She was beaten to death and dumped in the creek behind their house
  • New video shows him having a good time with a bottle of tequila in Tulum, Mexico
  • Police have yet to name a suspect in Myrtle’s murder or answer whether or not they want to speak to Brown

Former NFL player Sergio Brown was spotted partying in Tulum this week after claiming in a series of unhinged Instagram videos that his mother’s murder in Illinois was “fake news.”

Brown’s mother Myrtle was beaten to death and dumped in a creek behind their home in Maywood, Illinois.

Her body was found on September 16. He was reported missing along with her by his concerned brother Nick.

Maywood police have not arrested anyone in Myrtle’s murder and have not named any suspects. They also have to indicate whether Sergio is an interesting person.

He was living in the house at the time and neighbors say he went ‘crazy’ and burned all his clothes before disappearing.

Despite the family tragedy and ongoing police investigation, Sergio was spotted at a beach club in Tulum dancing shirtless with scantily clad women.

Maywood police would not release any new information about the case, other than to say the investigation into Myrtle’s death is ongoing.

Deputy Chief Theodore Yancy declined to comment on whether or not police were seeking Sergio as a person of interest when contacted by DailyMail.com on Tuesday.

In the videos, Sergio appears drunk as he dances with bikini-clad women to a series of hip-hop songs.

He was later photographed relaxing in a booth with a bottle of tequila in front of him.

Brown played for the New England Patriots, then the Indianapolis Colts, the Jacksonville Jaguars and finally the Buffalo Bills.

He retired in 2016 and has since lived quietly in Maywood, a suburb of Chicago.

The relative anonymity came to an abrupt end on September 16 with the death of his mother.

But instead of rushing home, Brown took to social media, using a fake Instagram handle, to call it “fake news.”

In some videos he called himself a “legend.” The account is now deactivated.

Brown’s family held a funeral for Myrtle last weekend.

His brother Nick has not commented on his absence.
