Hunter Biden, 53, will appear in court Tuesday and is expected to plead not guilty to lying about his drug use while buying a gun.
It comes after a plea deal fell apart this summer that would have seen President Joe Biden’s son plead guilty to tax charges and lie about drug use to avoid jail time.
The case is the first-ever criminal prosecution of the child of a sitting US president.
Hunter was indicted last month by U.S. Special Counsel David Weiss on three felony charges.
In 2018, Hunter checked on a federal firearms form that he was not addicted to or using illegal substances at the time he purchased a Colt Cobra pistol.
However, his own book provides insight into drug addiction and the timeline provided shows that Hunter Biden was using drugs in 2018.
