Firefighters rush to Zoe Ball’s home after the star accidentally leaves a candle burning in her empty home
Zoe Ball has revealed firefighters rushed to her home on Monday.
During her breakfast show on Radio 2, the 52-year-old star explained how she left a candle lit in her empty house.
She told listeners: ‘What happened to me for the first time was that yesterday the fire brigade went to my house.
‘I had left a candle burning in the lounge. I was so obsessed with The Matrix and making a cake on Sunday that I went out and didn’t blow out any of the candles.
‘It continued to smolder in the lounge and at 9.25am my smoke detectors went off, thank goodness! Otherwise I might have gone home, to no home!’

Zoe was quick to thank everyone involved who ensured her home was not destroyed by the fire.
She said: ‘Thank you to my neighbor Abs and my beautiful Em who called the fire brigade.
‘And I’d like to say a big shout out to Duncan and the boys from Uckfield, Joe, Cameron and Steve, who went around, put out the candle and saved my house from burning down.’
