The NFL was “simping” on Taylor Swift during Sunday night’s game between the Jets and Chiefs, says Dave Portnoy.

Swift dominated headlines again after attending her second Kansas City match in a week to see new beau Travis Kelce in action at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

As Kelce and the Chiefs held on for a nail-biting 23-20 win over the Jets, NBC’s coverage frequently showed the pop superstar watching the game from her suite, where she sat alongside celebrity friends Blake Lively, Hugh Jackman, Sophie Turner and more.

A number of die-hard football fans took to social media to check out Swift’s frequent cutaways, with cameras immediately turning to her in the stands after the game’s first touchdown.

The NFL also caused controversy by changing the headline on

And Portnoy, the founder of sports blogging website Barstool Sports, echoed his criticism of the fanfare surrounding Swift during Sunday’s game.

He posted on X: ‘This is crazy. The NFL is simplifying for Taylor’.

Portnoy later complained that Swift is bringing chaos to Sunday Night Football, writing, “There’s almost too much going on for a Swiftie, a football fan, and someone who bets 25,000 on Chiefs and has Kelce on my fantasy team.”

The 46-year-old also poked fun at Lively, who could be seen jumping up and down to celebrate with Swift when the Chiefs scored on the night.

He wrote, “Blake Lively is here cheering for the Chiefs like she grew up in Overland Park Missouri.”

Despite his claim that the NFL was sucking up to Swift, Portnoy continued to mention the singer on X throughout the evening.

He also wrote about the Jets’ injured quarterback while also watching from the stands: “It’s hard to say which suite is having more fun tonight? @AaronRodgers12 vs. @taylorswift13′.

Swift has remained very coy about her romance with Kelce so far, but she was spotted during the game leaning over to her actress friend Lively and whispering “look at him.”

As you’d expect, fans went crazy after watching the clip live on NBC, with one person writing on Instagram, “She literally can’t believe she’s with the most popular athlete.”

Meanwhile, another added: “She’s as in love as a kitten.”

It is believed that Swift and Kelce left the stadium separately after the game, with the NFL tight end staying with his teammates and boarding the Chiefs bus.

Taylor, meanwhile, headed to private members club Zero Bond in New York City, where she continued the party into the wee hours.
