The light-filled bedrooms overlook the manicured gardens, while a sitting room with a cozy fireplace offers visitors the perfect reading nook.

A second living area features an airy kitchen, dining and living space connected to a wooden veranda that opens onto the luxurious swimming pool overlooking the tranquil bush views.

The wood throughout the house is recycled from all over the world. The ceiling beams were once part of an old jetty in Sydney’s Darling Harbor and the floorboards were imported from a house in Egypt. Many of the planks were once stored in a cheese factory in the Netherlands.

Outside, the main house is surrounded by seven hectares of colorful gardens full of flowers, native flora, vegetable gardens, fruit trees, a vineyard and an 800-year-old gum tree.

The furnishings of Springfield’s main residence are partly thanks to interior and fashion designer Collette Dinnigan who renovated the space before it was purchased by current owners Peter Barge and writer Kinchem Hegedus.

Thanks to its laid-back luxury and several opulent spaces, Peter and Kinchem have hosted a number of health and wellness retreats, including nutrition, permaculture, yoga and pilates, and writing classes.

It is also available for travelers to stay and have a relaxing getaway in one of Rosemary Hall’s bedrooms or in the Drover’s Rest farmhouse, studio or additional guest house.
