Katy Perry begins work on her new album two years after her last album, Smile, sold more than 70,000 copies.
The Roar hitmaker has been focused on her ongoing residency in Las Vegas since December 2021, but she has some big plans when the run comes to an end.
“I’m probably going to do another record soon and write it and then tour the world, which will be so awesome,” she said while performing on The Drew Barrymore Show this week.
New album: Katy Perry is going to work on her new album. The ‘Roar’ hitmaker – who released her sixth record ‘Smile’ in 2020 – has been focused on her ongoing residency in Las Vegas since December 2021, but she has some big plans when the run comes to an end.
The 37-year-old star admitted she has a “persona” when she takes the stage for the Katy Perry:PLAY show at the Resorts World Theater, and she saves “a lot of that energy” for her live shows.
She explained: “I think there is of course a persona on stage.
“And I save a lot of that energy to be on stage and I call it up. I really like this show that I’m putting on. It’s my favorite show, it brings the most joy.’
Meanwhile, Katy explained that she doesn’t “talk much offstage” as she prefers to wait until she can spin things “until 11” in front of a live audience.
A show-stopping persona: “I think of course there is a persona on stage. And I save a lot of that energy to be on stage and I call it up. I really like this show that I’m putting on. It’s my favorite show, it brings the most joy,” the singer explained
She added: ‘I’m beautiful, even offstage. I am more of a business woman; I don’t talk much offstage… I’m quite an observer.
“I really save my energy for when I have to turn it on. Because when I turn it on, it’ll be until eleven, girl.’
The I Kissed A Girl singer recently went into more detail about her plans to take the show on the road once her residency is over.
She said: ‘I have the songs to put on a big show for people from eight to eighty to enjoy.
“Those songs have taken me all over the world and I’ve toured the world three times. So I know I have to go back because the world is constantly changing and new fans are joining every day.”
