After the madness of Tuesday’s opening night, Wednesday was a comparative walk down the catwalk as Balmain presented its latest collection at the front, although there was a smaller crowd at Paris Fashion Week.
A selection of stars from the worlds of film, fashion and music came together for the show, a first official look at the French brand’s womenswear collection for spring-summer 2024, on day two of the biennial extravaganza.
Poppy Delevingne, Lucy Hjd ale and Romee Strijd arrived early at the catwalk show and turned heads as they greeted photographers on the specially laid blue carpet.
Poppy, the older sister of model and actress Cara Delevingne, opted for a white wool mindress and inevitably drew attention to her sender physique.
The 37-year-old completed the look with a pair of matching white stiletto heels, while a tasteful leather handbag continued the neutral color scheme.

American actress Lucy, 34, joined the British model in claiming her own share of the spotlight in a gloved tuxedo top with a dramatic deep detail.
The Pretty Little Liars star offset the look with tasteful cropped trousers, while matching black heels gave it a conventional look.
Meanwhile, Dutch model Romee, 28, looked stunning in an intricate black leather shirt dress with pleated details – a look she paired with glittering silver heels and statement earrings.
Echoes of the 70s resonate on the Parisian catwalks this season, intertwined with modern fashion elements. While elongated silhouettes and deliberately mismatched styles emphasized a retro influence at Dries Van Noten, Courreges’ futuristic, space-age designs provided a counterbalance, bringing the past to the future.
But Balmain lost dozens of pieces after a truck carrying the clothes was hijacked, creative director Olivier Rousteing revealed in September.
Rousteing said in an Instagram post that thieves seized the vehicle carrying about 50 items from Balmain’s new collection between a Paris airport and the label’s headquarters in the French capital.
The truck driver was safe, he said.
“We are doing everything again, but this is so disrespectful,” he said in his message.

A Balmain spokesperson confirmed at the time that Wednesday night’s show in Paris would go ahead, but declined to comment on the robbery pending an investigation.
Balmain is controlled by Mayhoola, an investment vehicle backed by Qatar’s royal family.
