Kirstie Allsop pulls out of Location, Location, Location filming after being rushed to hospital following horror fall down a flight of stairs in a London pub

Kirstie Allsop has been forced to stop filming new series Location, Location, Location after falling down a flight of stairs in a London pub.

The presenter, 52, was left ‘battered and bruised’ after the accident, after which the emergency services were called and she was rushed to hospital.

She confirmed her hospital admission on Instagram, telling followers: ‘Today is Wednesday and it’s a work day. I should film Location, Location, Location.

‘Except yesterday, when we were in a pub in Stoke Newington filming a conversation with our lovely house hunters Beth and Rory, I went to the toilet.

“And unfortunately something went wrong and I fell down a whole flight of stairs.”

Kirsty added that she is incredibly lucky not to have broken any bones, but was left in extreme pain after the fall.

She said: ‘It was, I think without a doubt, the scariest and most painful thing I have ever done in my life and I feel extremely blessed to be here in bed and not have broken anything. I am bruised and battered.

‘I went and had an X-ray and a CT scan. And I was examined by a nice doctor.’

Kirsty thanked the parademics who came to lift her off the floor and apologized to the crew members who heard her shouting into their earcups during the fall.

The star added that her co-star Phil Spencer will replace her on the show, saying: “Hopefully, if I feel like it, I’ll Facetime them to give my advice from bed.”

Kirsty has been advised by doctors to get adequate bed rest and her bruising means ‘sitting or getting in the car’ is out of the question.

She said: ‘Unfortunately that spa weekend I took my sister to is no longer going ahead, but I’m very grateful, to be honest it was quite comical…

‘As I lay on the pub floor with my dress around my waist, I thought, ‘Oh my God, there’s a comedy element to it.’

“There were so many people who were so kind and helpful, Bernie from Enfield, Hayley from New York, and you know, you rely on the kindness of strangers when you’re in that situation, so I’m very grateful.”

Sharing the update on Instagram, Kirsty captioned the clip: ‘News from bed…stupidly I went head first down the stairs of a pub yesterday morning whilst filming @c4locationsofficial.

‘I’m battered and bruised and putting my trousers on is a struggle, but I’ll be back on track soon.

“@PhilSpencerTV is stepping into the breach and taking over with my house hunters. At L,L,L, the lovely people who spend their time house hunting come with us and we should never forget that.’

It comes after Phil returned to work at Location, Location, Location earlier this month after losing both his parents in a car accident.

The presenter, 53, revealed last month that his parents David, 89, and Anne, 82, had died in an accident on their family farm in Littlebourne, near Canterbury, Kent, while on their way to the pub for lunch.

Phil was seen for the first time since their deaths in a video shared by Kirstie as she revealed the couple were back on set of their much-loved property show.

Kirstie started the video by explaining: ‘So we’re back to work filming on Location, Location, Location and I wasn’t quite sure what my next post on Instagram should be.

“My last message was about Phil’s mum and dad and you all sent such sweet, lovely messages and Phil was so grateful…” to which Phil interrupted and confirmed: “Very grateful, and I didn’t put anything on Instagram either , but I appreciate people’s kind reactions.’

Kirsty added: “You see, he’s English and he’s a man, he’s just done really well, so a round of applause to Phil for that and thank you, you’ve all been so kind.”

She captioned the clip: “He is back at work and was very touched by all your messages. I even managed to get him to say it on Insta. Bless him.’
