“Lady Elliot Island, The Great Barrier Reef,” Bindi captioned her video.

The Instagram reel also showed Bindi and her husband Chandler Powell caring for some baby turtles and lowering them into the ocean from a boat.

Lady Elliot Island is the same place the Irwin family visited King Charles III on his last royal tour of Australia.

Charles, then the Prince of Wales, spent a day with the Irwins during his royal tour of Australia in 2018.

They probably found a kindred spirit in Charles, as he had been advocating conservation and other environmental issues long before it was politically trendy.

“Our family feels extremely privileged to have had the opportunity today to meet His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and other dignitaries on Lady Elliot Island,” Bindi wrote on Instagram at the time.

“We have teamed up to discuss important methods to protect the largest living structure on Earth, the Great Barrier Reef.

“We must work together to make a difference and protect these sensitive ecosystems for generations to come #RoyalVisitAustralia.”

Her younger brother Robert also said at the time that he was “truly honored” to meet Charles, who was traveling with his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and to speak with “such a passionate and influential person” about the Great Barrier. Reef.

Bindi’s sweet moment from her daughter comes after the Irwin family landed in Brisbane after their annual pilgrimage to the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve, near Weipa in Far North Queensland.

It comes as some Australians are shouting that the late national icon Steve Irwin should be impressed by the $5 note rather than King Charles III in the wake of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

Her Majesty died last Thursday at the age of 96, sparking a wave of mourning around the world as Commonwealth countries honor Britain’s longest-serving monarch.

Her death after 70 years on the throne heralds a series of changes that will take place in Australia, including the introduction of banknotes and coins with the face of the new king.

New cash and coins will be printed with the face of King Charles III now that he is head of state – but some Australians believe that Irwin, who died in 2006 aged 44, deserves more to be on the national currency.

Several Australians took to social media to demand that other famous Australians be commemorated instead on the country’s legal tender when the printing press gets underway.

“Time to replace Queen Elizabeth’s face on cash with Steve Irwin or Heath Ledger I guess,” one woman tweeted.

Another said: ‘Can we get a petition to get Steve Irwin’s face on money instead of letting the Queen go? It’s what we all want.’

“Steve Irwin deserves our highest form of currency,” said another. “The $5 bill explodes in value when we put it on that bill.”

Australians will wait a while for new $5 notes with an image of King Charles III, with the central bank noting that there will be “no immediate change in Australian notes.”

The Reserve Bank of Australia has confirmed that King Charles III is expected to appear on a new $5 bill.

“The reigning monarch has traditionally appeared on the lowest denomination of Australian banknotes,” the RBA said.

However, the $5 banknotes depicting Queen Elizabeth II will also remain in circulation and will not be withdrawn.

There is no word yet on how the Irwin family feels about the call for Steve to get on the Australian currency, but they are known to have a good relationship with the royal family. (Pictured: Terri, Bob and Bindi Irwin talking to Prince Charles on Lady Elliot Island on April 6, 2018)
