Sam DeRosa has married her longtime boyfriend Shane Carlyle in a romantic outdoor ceremony in Massachusetts.

The singer-songwriter, who has written hits for Fitz and the Tantrums and Dixie D’Amelio, has been married to Shane for nine years on Saturday, September 23, at The Villa at Ridder Country Club in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, reports People.

The couple — who wanted a “garden romance theme” for their wedding and for the ceremony between Carlyle’s parents in Scituate, Mass., and Boston — kicked off their wedding weekend with a Friday night cocktail party at The Drift Inn’s bar. and restaurant, owned by Carlyle’s father.

They got married the next day – with DeRosa wearing a beautiful 1406 lace and beaded dress by Martina Liana.

Her younger brother Joe officiated the ceremony, with the couple writing their own vows and surrounded by gold decor and ‘floating’ candles.

DeRosa said, “I think handwritten vows really take a wedding ceremony to the next level. Plus, I’m a full-time singer-songwriter and my fiancé certainly isn’t, so I didn’t think he’d be interested, but he was excited to write his own vows. I’m ready to be surprised and will absolutely cry!’

A string quartet performed at the wedding, as Carlyle walked down the aisle to Blink-182’s hit First Date, while DeRosa walked to Shania Twain’s You’re Still The One.

The couple’s first dance was to their “absolute favorite” Bryan Adams song (Everything I Do) I Do It for You.

Celebrity guests included singer/songwriter Wrabel and country artist Kylie Morgan.

Guests enjoyed charcuterie and hors d’oeuvres during the cocktail hour, prior to a sumptuous two-course dinner.

Dessert was a three-tiered gluten-free funfetti wedding cake with a dessert station with cake pops, brownies, cookies and gluten-free cannolis.

Grilled cheese snacks, fries and cheeseburger sliders were also served.

A final celebration on Sunday was a backyard brunch with an ice cream and pizza truck, lawn games and soccer.

The couple first met in Boston when DeRosa sang at a bar where Carlyle was bartending.

Carlyle later moved to LA with the singer so she could pursue her singing career.

DeRosa said, “Once we got to the roof, there were candles, rose petals and lights everywhere and he asked me to marry him. The real surprise was that once I said yes, both of our families jumped out and surprised us.

‘It was a surprisingly private engagement party with just our families. We both live in LA now, so it was magical to have both our families in one place.”

The newlyweds will now enjoy a 10-day honeymoon in Greece, exploring Athens and the country’s islands.
