An American traveler has been left in shock after arriving in Australia for the first time.
Josiah Hein couldn’t believe his eyes when he walked to the baggage claim and found people just ‘walking around’ and not in a hurry.
The tourist shared a video and said the fact that no one was crowding or overly stressed about their bags left a strong first impression for the country.
“Australians don’t really care… this is a different atmosphere here,” he said.
“They’re a little less tight here, dude, that’s my first impression.”
His video showed people leaning on bags and looking disinterested or talking to their children.

People were quick to criticize the American’s video.
‘No, we Australians are more civilized. Time awaits us here. We were raised well. We don’t do what you think is normal. We do our own thing,” one man said.
‘It’s not a lack of care. It is an abundance of care. We believe it is important to be courteous and give space,” an Australian woman added.
Others described the reality.
“It’s our ‘stand back’ rule until you see your bag so you don’t get in the way of others,” one man said.
“At the KFC drive-thru you see a different reality and hear new words for your vocabulary,” laughed another.
Josiah said he likes the mottos “it’ll work out, buddy” and “it’ll work out in the end.”
‘There’s no point in worrying about that. It will keep going around until we pick it up.”
Josiah explained that in the US, there must be barriers at the beginning of the carousel to prevent overzealous Americans from pushing in to grab their belongings.
