Pittsburgh Steelers’ flight makes emergency landing in Kansas City due to engine issues en route home from Las Vegas

The Pittsburgh Steelers plane had to make an emergency landing in Kansas City early this morning as the team returned home after a road win in Las Vegas.

The team’s charter flight, an Airbus A330-900, took off from Sin City at 9pm last night but suffered an oil pressure failure at 5am.

Pilots took immediate action and brought the plane down for an emergency landing in Kansas City after consulting with air traffic control.

The plane was met on the tarmac by fire engines and emergency personnel as a precaution, but no one on board is believed to have been injured.

Steelers senior communications director Burt Lauten wrote about X following the incident: “Our team charter plane was unexpectedly diverted to Kansas City early this morning on our way back to Pittsburgh after our game in Las Vegas.

“Everyone on the plane is safe and we are making the necessary plans to arrive back in Pittsburgh later today.”
