Rough weather in the Mid-Atlantic has led to poor field conditions in the Meadowlands, where the New England Patriots visit the New York Jets.

Prior to the start of the game, a Patriots reporter noticed there were white footprints in the Jets’ end zone – from the paint being applied at MetLife Stadium.

That got worse later before the game started, with white paint spots spreading across the green backdrop in the end zone.

As the rain continued to fall thanks to Tropical Storm Ophelia, the paint job looked worse and worse.

That was especially true in midfield, where the Jets logo began to fade as the game progressed.

A reporter noticed some white footprints in the end zone before the game. It got worse.

By the third quarter, the white lines around the Jets’ football logo — which had become smudged by the start of the game — had almost completely disappeared.

In nearby Central Park, nearly 0.74 inches of rain had fallen since just after midnight on the 24th.

The day before, almost an inch of rain had fallen in that same part of New York City.

The weather continued to impact play throughout the match, with water and wind leading to missed passes and kicks.

Ultimately, the ball game ended in a Patriots victory with a score of 15-10.
