Payday 3 players still can’t get online at peak times three days after launch
For the third day in a row, Payday 3 players continue to struggle to start playing online.
Earlier today, developer Starbreeze said that despite the recent turbulence, “things are starting to look better,” but players have been reporting throughout the day that matchmaking issues still persist, essentially preventing anyone from playing even if they want to play alone.
It all started on September 21, back then Payday 3 launched on PC and consoles. While the first day of the early access period fluctuated a bit, the servers were mostly fine, but the moment the game became available to all players – including those playing through Xbox Game Pass – the matchmaking stopped, especially during peak times in Europe and the US.
“We regret to report that matchmaking is still unavailable, our team is working overtime to get this resolved,” the team said announced on social media on launch day.
“We recognize that the matchmaking issues are frustrating, and so are we,” Starbreeze said added later. “We’re still here and still working to get you all back in the game, stay tuned.”
SERVERS DOWN AGAIN GOOD WORK STARBREEZE SEE YOU IN 12 HOURS HEISTERS 👊😎 by r/paydaytherobbery
Since then, however, the servers only seem to stabilize when demand decreases and most of the game’s European and American player base gives up and goes to sleep.
However, the game’s social channel and subreddit are full of comments from disgruntled gamers that they still can’t connect via matchmaking – and the lucky few who do are also getting kicked out.
“The only time it worked I had to work like an adult, and now it doesn’t work anymore. I’ve never seen such a piece of shit, this is literally the new ET of gaming. Throw this crap in the landfill Where it belongs,” boiled a very unhappy player.
“You’re right to complain about the server issues. It’s unacceptable that these issues still exist so long after launch. You’re also right to say it should have had offline capabilities,” one person agreed. conciliatory responder.
“But we all know the servers will be fixed, probably quite soon. So while the frustration is absolutely justified, especially for those who cleared their schedules, were super hyped, etc., don’t be an idiot and screw up the whole game. Soon we’ll all have a real heist.”
At the time of writing, Starbreeze has not responded to reports of further server outages.
