Aaron Rodgers has spoken to Pat McAfee about his recovery process after his Achilles tear

“There has been some progress in the last few days that is moving the hope meter up a little and the joy meter up a little.

‘I don’t want to get caught up in a timeline, I want to get mentally and physically healthy. But I’m going to do everything I can to put myself in a position to play football again at some point.

‘Obviously when this happens there are thoughts of ‘is that it’ and ‘are you ready?’. I don’t feel like I am. I’m going to put myself in a position to play again.

“The first goal was to get out of the cast. The second goal, getting out of the boot, which coincides with walking. Walking leads to movement, to faster movement and ultimately to running.

“Getting it out of the closet is the next goal. When I can stand on my own, the boot comes off and then it becomes exciting.’

Rodgers admitted he is using manifestation to inspire his comeback.

“Visualization is an important part of the manifestation process,” he said. ‘The core of manifestation is faith. You have to believe it will happen again.

‘I just visualize being back on the field. No timeline, not this year or next year, but running from a tunnel to a field doing exactly what I love.”
