European Emily Pedersen made history at the Solheim Cup by making a hole-in-one for the second time in the tournament’s history.
The Danish golfer’s historic moment came on the 12th hole, when Pedersen hit a tee shot that landed on the edge of the green before turning sideways and dribbling into the hole.
It sparked wild celebrations from the 27-year-old and her European team, led by captain Suzann Pettersen, who included Pedersen as one of her wild picks for the team.
Pedersen played with Swede Maja Stark against Jennifer Kupcho and Allisen Corpuz of Team USA, and her ace reached the European level in their match after a disappointing start for the team at Finca Cortesin.
Petterson’s team trailed 4-0 in the foursome, with Pedersen and Charley Hull trailing Cheyenne Knight and Ally Ewing 5 and 4, giving the US a commanding lead.

The hole-in-one was the second time this feat had been achieved at the Solheim Cup, with the previous trump also being hit by a European.
Swedish golfer Anna Nordqvist captured the historic moment during the 2013 Solheim Cup at Colorado Golf Club.
Nordqvist’s 187-yard 7-iron helped her and partner Caroline Hedwall beat Paula Creamer and Morgan Pressel 2 and 1 in Saturday’s celebrations as Europe beat the US 18-10 at the tournament a decade ago.
