Taking direct inspiration from a movie heist, gang stole $500,000 worth of jewelry from a Florida store using a jackhammer to disable alarms before getting away with it with the loot.
The theft took place at Mint Jewelers near Boodaddy Diamonds in Hollywood, Florida on September 16 in less than five minutes.
A group of thieves broke in through the roof, used a jackhammer to disable the alarms and descended into the showroom.
The store’s owner, Christopher Petrillo, told CBS Miami: ‘(At) 5:09 p.m. they entered my shop, at 5:13 p.m. they were out. In literally four minutes, you know, they recovered over half a million dollars worth of jewelry.
“It’s heartbreaking, you know? Thieves are like the lowest in the world, like they’re bastards, you know?

At 5:13 a.m., one of the thieves noticed the small camera hidden in the store.
“I’m still listing everything, but it’s about half a million dollars,” he said.
“They had this big jamming device, almost like a bomb, with 15 antennas and it was plugged into my alarm system and then they cut all the wires.”
But one detail that escaped the gang was that Christopher had a secret ring camera discreetly positioned in a corner of the store.
The ring camera was able to capture the entire theft as well as the faces and other identifiable information of the thieves.
The video shows the Spanish-speaking thieves walking around the store and picking up items. Christopher said the thieves stole a rare orange Chanel bag and a huge bottle of Louis XIII liquor, which is typically priced at $3,500.
He explain: ‘(At) 5:13 in the morning one of the guys noticed the little camera I had there and as the guy was moving he had the flashlight in his mouth and he flashed the other guy.

Even though the suspects took half a million worth of merchandise, Christopher believes they will soon be arrested.
“(Crime scene investigators) were here for two days straight,” he said. “We have fingerprints. We have DNA. We have pictures. We have photos.
