The star of Netflix series My Unorthodox Life, 52, told MailOnline that after years of being “obedient” and “submissive” growing up in an extremely Orthodox Jewish community, she relishes the opportunity to say “no » to men on dating apps.

And Julia, who previously compared her first marriage to a “prison”, insists she “never wants to enter into a love contract again”.

In an exclusive interview, the mother-of-four stressed that there is no “shame” in divorce and that “everything doesn’t have to be forever.”

Julia said: “I absolutely believe in marriage and I understand why people get married, especially when you’re younger, marriage is great.

“But at my age, I have my children, I support myself, it’s not about me… it’s about love and companionship.

“Do I think I’ll ever get married again?” No, I don’t… I don’t think I want to renew a love contract one day. But I want someone to choose every day to be with me.

She added: “I’m dating someone…I love it. I’m in my fifties and for the first time in my life I’m dating someone, like I’m officially dating and I’m going out to meet someone.

“When I left the community, the first nine months were all about sexual exploration, and then I met a man, and he became my boyfriend, and I met my husband. Last year, at 52, was the first time I went out properly.

“I found dating to be very stimulating. I never said “no” to men…whatever the men wanted in my community, that’s what they got. I was obedient and submissive, so now it feels amazing to say “no, not you”, “not today”.

“We are the only company where our shapewear is sold not only by dress size, but also by cup size.

“You can buy your size in an AF range, so it really recognizes every curve of a woman’s body.

“One of the models told me it was like liposuction, a tummy tuck and a boob job in a $198 outfit because it makes your breasts pop and holds them in place in a bra that fits you goes and everything else is smoothed and flattered and you”I’m not embarrassed to take it off.

Julia explained that she formulated a new way to dye clothes, which is why her designs for +Body feature vibrant colors such as an alluring red and cyan blue.

She said: “Shapewear is so ugly because it’s compression clothing… as soon as you compress something the fabric stretches and the pattern is distorted because when you dye a garment you can’t stretch it… it’s intentional. regardless of the size it is made in.

“To get the shape to look good, I had to change the way we put the dye into the clothes, so that we’re not just dyeing our clothes, we’re heat fusing them, which is a new process.”

Her biggest competition is arguably Kim Kardashian, owner of shapewear brand Skims – but Julia insists she is not threatened by any other models on the market.

She said: “I love challenges and I love competition… competition is the spice of life. That’s not really the case in this particular situation, I’m not competing with anyone because it’s a new product.

“All the other shapewear, Skims, Spanks, the compression garment, the shapewear itself all look the same.

“Mine is such a different product, it’s his… we’ve almost created a new market.”

“Netflix is awesome and they are such lovely human beings. I know there are problems in the industry…I’m ignorant, this is all new to me, but I pray and hope that everyone succeeds and gets the rights they need.
