The Voice’s Rita Ora shocks viewers as she makes ‘selfish’ decision during fights: ‘I don’t want to do that’
Rita Ora shocked viewers after making a “selfish” decision during the latest episode of The Voice Australia.
The superstar judge, 32, had to eliminate Tarryn or Nyree after competing for a place in the semi-finals.
However, the For You hitmaker couldn’t choose between the two ‘super moms’ and sent contestants Gezel and Elsa home instead of allowing one of them to move on to the next round.
Tarryn and Nyree then competed in the “Sing For Your Life” challenge, forcing Rita to decide who she wanted to send home.
“Just hearing you sing again, selfishly, was a treat,” the emotional singer said before sending Tarryn through to the semi-finals.

“You are both very experienced, you are powerhouses, I continue to prolong the inevitable,” she continued.
“It was the most intense battle I have ever seen.”
Earlier in the episode, Rita admitted she couldn’t decide who to send home after both women impressed her with their performance of Heart’s Alone.
“It’s the hardest decision I’ve ever made on this show,” she said.
“The winner of the battle for me is…I don’t want to do this, but actually I’m so torn I just need more time.”

Rita has become a fixture on the Sydney social scene since joining The Voice Australia as a judge in 2021.
The British pop star is often photographed attending glitzy events in the city and has quickly made it her second home as she spends much of her year filming here for the singing competition.
She loves the country so much that she decided to launch her first album since 2018 in Sydney earlier this year.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph at the launch of her You & I album in June, Rita said she had always felt very welcome by Australians.
“I’m really happy to celebrate my album in Australia where I feel so welcomed, loved and supported,” she said.
She added: “I just hope everyone enjoys the album and feels really connected to it and that it inspires someone who needs it.”
